Hi, the core functionality of the app is completely free. You can save recipes, you can add recipes to your meal plan, and you can create grocery lists, all for free. Premium gives you cross-device syncing, the ability to save meals from Discover, social imports, and a few other features. You also aren't charged, and no credit card is required unless you decide to sign up for premium.

So glad you're enjoying the app!
Does not work
As for copying recipes in from notes, you have to manually enter each ingredient and method step. For example, I copied the ingredients from a neat list with one ingredient per line - you try and paste it all in at once and it's one wall of text instead of a list. Just not ideal at all.
If you're on iPhone, really, you're better off using the notebook app and having a recipe folder in there - works so much better, and if you tack on a picture of the recipe at the end, it comes up in the thumbnail for that entry.

Sorry to hear that the parser wasn't working as expected for you. We do have a report issue function in the app where you can report when recipes don't import as expected, and we can look into it for you to fix it. Without a report, it's hard to say what went wrong, but we continue to make improvements to our parser with each day.
Game changer!
