I’ve had this app for a few years but stopped using it. I decided to check it out again, as it’s fun to give people advice and get some when I need it.
This app is now riddled with ads. I open a letter and then I have to sit through a 30 second unskippable ad.

Used to be Amazing :[
I used to love this app. But recently they locked EVERYTHING behind a paywall. You can’t USE the app for what it’s meant to be used for anymore. Why, as a mental health app, are we now requiring PAYMENT to HELP people??? I want the old system back. 3 readable letters a day, more journaling, more writing. Freedom to actually express yourself without an ad or paywall. Please bring the old app back. :[ Don’t become greedy. This was a great thing.

Unfortunate
I’ve had this app for over 2 years and I really enjoyed it! It WAS refreshing, a great concept, everyone there was pretty friendly to one another, a way to share and be helped if needed. Human to human connection whether it be for good or the worst even tho it was anonymous. I loved this app, but ever since they hid everything behind a pay wall my likeliness has deteriorated. Money hungry creator(s). The beneficial app is no longer the same. It’s basically unusable/useless unless you pay to be happy. Being a plus member shouldn’t deteriorate the rest of the app for people seeking advice. The one thing they could have taken away is the ability to send emojis to others, then to keep your “streak” u would have to send a message to someone longer than a certain amount of characters. The plus members could be the ones with the emojis and other add ons, then I bet the reviews would be much better. I’m happy with all the recent reviews so far, but annoyed that there’s a much greater chance the creator(s) are probably not taking any into account….

New paywall
I used to really enjoy this app. I felt a sense of community, being able to connect with others who struggle similarly. Now I can only read one letter a day. This makes it significantly less likely for someone’s letter to be read/seen at all. It feels so isolating. On days when I felt so alone, I knew I could rely on a response the next day, that is no longer the case. This is no longer an app for community but for capital.

I really don’t know what I would do without the app, this app at times has been my lifeline.
Not very good
I had to watch 5 ads total to open my daily letters like what? This app just seems like a money grab and I never used to have to. For an app that’s supposed to be helping people it seems like it more just making money off people who are needing help .
Going downhill.
I’ve been using the app for several years now and overall I’ve really enjoyed it! However, the latest update only lets you read one letter per day (unless you watch an ad) instead of the previous three. (And it used to be more iirc) I’m VERY disappointed and may quit the app over this.
My last update
I deleted my account and app. Not only are the options usually arrogant men thinking they know more about life than everyone else, they only let you see two for the next 14 hours. This app has changed so much and for the worse. Was nice while it lasted i guess. Have fun do uche bags
Just knocked another star down because looking at recent reviews it’s telling that they are increasingly getting worse and still not protecting user base. Update: I noticed there’s a new update where users can’t send condolences through the emoji stickers now without paying for the service.. I’m pretty disappointed seeing as not everyone wants to or can verbally communicate and prefer to send support through a sticker. It’s silly to even expect people to pay for such a feature. The music and other stuff was enough. You guys took away commonly used feature for free because I’m sure you’re desperate for more people to pay for service but you guys could just add other features or something instead. You guys already added ads which can be annoying but I still watch through because I do value the app. Just a shame it feels you guys starting to care less for user base and more for money. What a shame.
I want to start off by saying I love this app it has helped me a lot. Unfortunately with spike in popularity with anything social you’re bound to have bad people infiltrate a safe space. It’s not common but depending on your topic of choice is, your chances of being attacked by people will heighten. I don’t have people in my life I feel comfortable telling certain things to, going to this app helps me let it out and talk about it with people. Something I think we all deserve. But it’s uncomfortable knowing that if I choose to speak about my own life experience that may be seen as controversial, that I could be met with harassing messages even if I disclosed that I don’t want any rude messages. I do report these messages and people but I am unsure what the mods actually do about it. Luckily the app prides in anonymity so I am able to block them and not worry about them getting another post of mine. Just a warning to people. Don’t feel like you can’t speak about things because people want to fight with you or harass you about it, your voice deserves to be heard and you deserve respect. I appreciate this app and the one out of 10 people who decide to be disrespectful towards vulnerable people will not ruin the app for me.

Not the Same.
I’ve had the app for a while, years. At the beginning when I first joined it was enjoyable, new, and refreshing. I wrote about my feelings, I got to talk to all sorts of people and those in different stages of life, I was on here almost everyday. But at some point I left. I left and came back and when I did, there was ads and paywalls. Now there’s even more paywalls. I have to wait to read another’s message. Every single thing is being put behind a paywall and the app is no longer fun. I liked when the app didn’t care so much but money truly runs the world.

Yeah okay, but why?
I’ve used the app a few times over the past 6 months and here is my honest review. Overall, the idea is pretty good and I’ve yet to encounter anyone outright nasty, but it’s definitely not built on solid values. It’s a cash grab. You need to “upgrade” to read more than one letter, or to even delete any of your own letters after posting them. Basic things like that. It just rubs me the wrong way, because for an app that is meant to provide some sense of community support/venting space it seems to just want to capitalize off of people’s despair and cravings for feeling heard. For this reason, I’ve deleted the app. It just seems really weird. I get that these things need to make money, but charging for basic functions just gives greedy and seems like they’re taking advantage of vulnerable people.

One of the BEST apps I’ve ever downloaded.
Amazing app… before the update
The concept was amazing, and the people here are very supportive and giving. I try to contribute to that culture as well. On the free version, you were allowed three free notes per day and you could either pay or watch videos to get more. I’ve done both. Now, you only get one free note from a new person per day, and you have to watch videos to get more. Even for your guaranteed free one, there is an ad that auto popped up while I was responding.
I understand, needing to make money and supporting this app, but I feel as though limiting us to one new note is too much. Three was a great, willing to change this review to a five star if this gets fixed.

too many paid features and ads!
I genuinely love this app, i think im only living this long BECAUSE of this app and how much it’s helped me BUT genuinely anytime i enter the app or click the button there’s almost always an ad, and then there’s a limit on how often you can write letters and read letters and it’s so annoying!!!! i just want to help and be helped and i wish everything didn’t require sincerely+ or whatever is is. ALSO i really hate the emoji reactions, i get that it shows that people saw ur letter and cared but like i want real responses but that could just be me 😭

They have ruined it
There’s no reason to have taken away almost all abilities to open multiple messages without paying. You used to be able to watch ads to get more letters. The app used to be about people helping others anonymously now it’s about you wanting money. Just getting greedy if you ask me.
Too many ads
It was a good app but now a video shows up after every single letter you read and to read more than one you have to watch a video. Not going to sit watching ads because it’s not worth it. Had it for months but deleting it now.
Fix the app!
When you leave an emoji reply the screen goes grey. Still hasn’t been fixed.
No longer worth it
I have been with sincerely since 2022/23 and at the time there was a lot to love about it; it was a great community based connector. But over the years there have been more and more obstacles to using the app. So many invasive ads, letters that wouldn’t be seen/read without a subscription, it just got greedier and greedier. Now everything is behind a paywall, and it’s just not worth it. There are so many better ways to connect than through this godforsaken money machine.
