The app was great until whatever recent update. Used to be easy to use but not anymore.
Poor usability
The process of editing a recipe is implemented poorly, much of the editing happens inside tiny edit boxes; reordering of the recipe steps is confusing.
The brewing screen is rather unhelpful as the main accent is made on the total recipe time while the timing of the current step is very hard to see. In other words, it is convenient for someone who watches over the brewer’s shoulder asking “how long till it’s done already?”, while it’s inconvenient for the brewer themselves.

I Can Do Pour-over!
Great, very helpful app! A couple of requests, it’d be great if the recipes would explain the logic of their internal equations a little better. For instance, at a 16:1 ratio, there’s a pretty broad range of output grams I can enter where grind weight doesn’t go up or down. It’s nice, I don’t need more granularity, but could I get an indicator that I’m at the gram-to-gram target ratio? Also, the tasting notes field hasn’t worked for me. Trying to edit it freezes the interface and I have to force close the application.

Great App for Beginners! Could be even better with some small additions…
First and foremost i‘d like to say that I‘ve been using this App for almost a year or so now on a quite regular basis.
I love the simplicity of it, the Design and the Ability to quickly take some notes about the latest brew with the ability to go in later to further detail them.
The guidance throughout the brew, paired with an optional tasting reminder are really helpful, especially when trying out new brew methods!
One of the features that stood out for me is that you can set your Grinder and with just a few taps easily adjust the grind setting of your current brew every time. If you then rate your brew afterwards and tell the app that it was maybe too sour/too bitter for your liking, it will give you recommendations on how to adjust the grind setting (how much finer or coarser), to get to the ideal brew you‘re trying to achieve out of your coffee.
A feature that in my personal opinion is absolutely amazing, especially for beginners / intermediate coffee enthusiasts that are eager to learn more about how to improve their coffee experience!
However, there is also some critique and features I‘d love to see in the future, as I really like this app a lot more than some of the others out there and would love to see it grow!
-The Ability to add a Custom Grinder, that is not currently a given Option in the App (Like the Niche Zero, DF64 Gen2, … or even a Hand Grinder like a Comandante). I feel like it might be fairly simple to give the User the Option to add Custom Grinders, name them and then set the range of possible Grind Settings / Clicks with that specific Grinder so that all of the other features and tips (like the ones mentioned above) would still work seamlessly.
-Being able to switch between brewing by a desired yield vs. brewing by coffee input.
Let’s say I know that I want to brew 19grams of Coffee in a V60 #2… I would now need to adjust the desired yield to a point, where it then shows 19 grams of coffee to grind.
I find it a bit odd though, that even though you can adjust the Ratio in the Recipe Settings (the default is 16, which would translate 19 grams of coffee to 304 grams of water), the range in which it suggests 19 grams 296-311 grams of waterright now I
-A way to add Custom Recipes for the already provided Brewers.
Specifically with the AeroPress there are so many different ways to brew with it. So I’m a little bit annoyed about the fact that the App only provides a recipe for the “Inverted Method”, whereas I would love the ability to Add other Methods and then being able to compare them based on my notes and ratings.
I understand that this one might be a bit more complex, but it would be an optional addition that could really bring the Single Origin App to another level.
All of that being said, this is a great app!

this app has been great if i just need a reminder on a method or if i want to keep every cup consistent. the app is very clean and easy to use.
Perfectly simple and simply perfect
I’ve use a lot of coffee apps over the years. Some are as simple as egg timer and and many others are too complicated. Single Origin is just right.

Ein Verbesserungsvorschlag wäre, wenn man die gesamte Extraktionszeit einstellen könnte, da ich persönlich nicht 3:30 Minuten (bei 210g Wasser) mit dem Hario V60-1 brühe!
Ich finde 2:30 bis 3:00 Minuten eher passend!

Very helpful
Great app and very informative. It has definitely helped me with making down my timing better. I love that it allows you to adjust the recipe and ratio too. I'm so used to making my own coffee that it throws me off when I have to add an additional cup allotment for a guest. Now I just plug it in and brew on my merry way. Love the notes section for referencing what type of coffee and tasting notes. This will become a daily use app for me.

Great Little App
This is a great brewing app that has nice features such as selecting a grinder, and recommendations on grind setting for that grinder, as well as the ability to enter an changes to the temp and grind size. It is also very simple to use and has a very easy interface. Great app for such a cheap price!
The only recommendedations I have that would completely transform the app is that it would be nice to be able to input the type of coffee brewed as well has have a list of the typical flavor notes from the coffee tasting wheel you could check after your brew. Also, it would be nice to have a coffee log where you could enter the different types of coffee you have in circulation with origin, roast date, suggested flavors, etc (especially for home roasters) that you could track and search. This is quite a big change but would really be awesome.

Can’t adjust coffee weight
Sounded like it should be a better app because it is the 2nd version, but there are far too few customisable variable options to be able to reall fine tune coffee how you want. Cannot record grind variety either.
The timer on French press moves stragely. Makes you kinda panic to get it right. Better off just using kitchen timer an note book

Perfect brewed coffee
I just thought to myself I am having a self care afternoon so I might try to brew a French press coffee to perfection. I never really thought to take the time to look through the app and try it. OMG for an app this is an essential for any coffee lover. Talk about the perfect cup with no harsh aftertaste and so deliver and smoother than French press coffee I have had before. I never take the the time to actually write a review for an app but this is so worth downloading for anyone who loves coffee. Must me and my coffee, for a bit of chill time between studying.

AeroPress Ratios Are Wrong
It’s physically impossible to put 312 g of water in an AeroPress (as stated for a 11 oz. press). And no, I’m not using an AeroPress Go.
