What's New in Skales

2.5.5

July 24, 2026

Flow stops being a place you only start things and becomes one you keep: pick a style pack, a model and skills per project, archive the ones you are done with, and send what you make into your files instead of leaving it stranded in a list. NEW • Style packs in Flow: 74 design aesthetics, the same catalog the desktop uses, in a searchable list next to your brand kit. The pack guides the look without ever overriding your brief • A model and reasoning effort per Flow project, set when you start or changed any time. Left alone, a project follows your default • Pin up to three skills to a project, built-in or your own, and their instructions guide every turn • Archive Flow projects instead of deleting them: an archived project keeps everything and an Active / Archived filter brings it back • Export a motion project as one self-contained HTML animation that plays in any browser, made entirely on your phone. Stills and PDF are there too • Flow output reaches your files and History: saved images land in Studio's History, PDF and HTML exports in a tidy flow-exports folder • Four more providers: Moonshot, MiniMax, GLM and Qwen, connected directly with your own key • Newer models in the picker, including Gemini 3.6 Flash and Flash-Lite and Claude Sonnet 5 • Team presets: pick Research, Build, Analysis, Content or Ops and Skales creates the whole team, every agent still fully editable • Connect to your desktop by scanning the code in its Skales Desktop Settings > Security, instead of retyping a 64-character token • Report a bug from Settings, Help, and read the full open-source licenses of everything Skales ships with IMPROVED • A faster first word from an on-device model • PDFs open properly from chat instead of previewing as a blank page • A 16:9 deck or motion clip keeps its shape instead of being stretched to fill the phone • A banner tells you when the desktop connection drops, and a new switch keeps the screen awake while a reply generates Skales is free, bring your own key or use the included Skales IQ. Nothing to buy.

Incredible Feature Set!

Wow! One of the best and most full-featured Agentic AI apps I’ve ever used! Integrations for mail, Notion, Home Assistant, Todoist, Spotify, Google Calendar, YouTube, Wordpress, and more. Great UI. Local Gemma models in beta or BYOK with Openrouter (including TTS!), Mistral, Ollama, and basically any you want, and you can set up different models and providers for different roles. Agent teams, MCP, and skills etc all available. On device file reading and writing, API-free weather, reminders, device info, contacts, so much more. Extremely impressed and excited to see how this app improves!!! Would love to use custom TTS voices eg ones running on my Mac (or even on device like Kokoro or Kitten etc) in the future but that’s really the only thing I can think of that’s not already included. Fantastic agent harness and frontend in one!

Response from developer

Thank you, this genuinely made my week. Skales is a solo project, so a review with this much detail in it means a lot for me. Two things are already on the way. NVIDIA is coming as a provider, which opens up a lot of strong open models. And a background runner is planned, so your agent keeps working when you close the display instead of dying with it. Custom TTS voices are noted (you will get it!), Duplex Voice Chat, and local or on-device options are exactly the direction I want to take that. Thank you for naming it, that is the kind of feedback that actually shapes the roadmap. Beyond those, my focus stays on more features, better stability, and a smoother experience throughout. Thanks again for taking the time to write all of this, I appreciate it a lot! If not already done, you can connect the app to Skales Desktop for a big boost in tool use inside chat, and so runs keep going while the phone is off. The desktop app is signed and notarized on macOS, and it ships with a migration importer.
