Missing ONE day RESETS all progress

This is not how life works. Missing ONE day does not put you back to square one! Infuriating.

Too overwhelming :(

I know this makes me sound like it’s a skill issue for me, they made the tricks look easy and didn’t have extra technology to be accessible for worse yo-yos.

Good App but sometimes not good users…

First of all, I wanna say that the team that develops this app are phenomenal. The videos are all high-quality that are done by them and I couldn’t give the developers more respect.

However, the community at times can be a little hypocritical and what I mean is that sometimes you will land a trick and every single fundamental element of that trick will be correct but just because you dismounted a different way than the tutorial video the community will be quick to market as incorrect…

So the app itself is pretty good and you can learn a lot of great tricks from the videos, but sometimes the community can be a little discouraging for beginners.

Great concept but...

The app has two problems. 1-users can vote to approve a submitted trick or not but they don't give feedback on what's right or wrong so it's hard to know what to correct. 2- Rude users. Maybe it's the nature of the community but the "experts" are largely kids who have no idea how rude they're being. I initially got excited about this but the community turned me off and I deleted my acid and app.

Good app although some people are too eager to not approve

This is a good app with a vast amount of tricks and easy to follow tutorials to learn them. That being said sometimes when you submit a trick people will not approve your submission or tell you why. That or it could be something vague like “trick was missed” which for the person gives them nothing to improve on. More constructive criticism would be better but that’s about it for the flaws.

Need better moderators

The app is good up until a point then you realize that they don’t regulate what people do or say. It became a pretty toxic environment very quickly.

Response from developer

Hi Feggeth, we have team of admins who observe the app 24/7 and delete innapropriate stuff they see or that gets reported by other users. 99% of the stuff gets deleted within minutes. We always discourage the community within the app to be helpful towards other players and polite of course -Vashek K.

So worth it!

The app has a skill tree that developes ones progress throughout the journey, I started from scratch w this app and I feel I’ve learned and continue to improve. One trick will be a foundation for the next one..so take your time and have fun w it..expert yoers might find the skill tree useless,.but there’s also a custom trick options that complement your YoYo journey where the og tree may leave you hanging…I didn’t mind all the approvals needed to advance here,.. literally only knew about responsive yo and now I have some skills in 1A! Who’d a thought that! I’m in my 50s and feel old but love to yo and lace kendama, great app! Learn and gain what you can, the resources are out there from yye, yo tricks and YouTube..Skilladdicts can make your dreams of yo come true,.. finally went to US Nationals never would have done that otherwise if not for this app and the people there..thx and good luck on your journey..! God Bless and take care!

Toxic environment

The people you talk to and interact with are not the best. The only reason I was enticed to get this app was the point system, but trust me it’s not worth the headache. Don’t waste your time getting this app.

Good at first, then you find the rust

I was super into this when I started off. After a few months though I decided to mostly step back.

The developer is awesome, I want to say that first, they are trying really hard to make everything work.

The moderators however are a joke. No control, no moderation. Always takes the route that requires the least amount of work.

Wrong tutorials, bad calls, bullying, harassment, spam, they let it all slide.

Unless you point out something is wrong, then they’re quick to speak up and tell you ‘no you’ 🙄

Countless wrong or poorly done tutorials, that are approved because the mods are afraid to hurt someone’s feelings, but a good one can never take its place, because, again, hurt feelings.

The community has a handful of AWESOME people and I hope to run into them on other platforms. Outside of those, it is toxic, childish, and downright bratty.

The spirit of this app should be learning skill toys.

It is not that, not anymore.

Moderators, step up.

Super helpful! Highly recommend

Super great app! All of the tutorials are super clear and to the point. Everyone on the app is super kind and helpful. 5 stars!

Don’t download bad vibes few good people

Don’t let your kids download this app unless you’re ok with people being rude and disrespectful to them one sided community bad influence try yo tricks app way better

Great for learning but too many ads

Layout is a great way to learn tricks with a generally positive and engaged community. It's too bad there are so many forced, Fullscreen, unskippable ads that poison the experience. It's one thing to offer ads as an optional avenue for extra pills, etc. It's much worse to force fullscreen ads that can't be immediately skipped or closed.

Incredible for learning tricks

Community based approval and feedback on truck submissions is such a powerful tool to make sure I am doing the tricks right. The pills earning physical rewards is also just awesome, I hope to make it to the black plastic yoyo soon, or perhaps the spin top since I don’t have one.

Great community as well, once you get used to constant constructive criticism 😅 also nice that it’s gotten me core comfortable in front of the camera!

Definitely room for improvement, having some ad issues, comment editing would be nice, the chat rooms are a little basic, but overall, the skill toy community is blessed to have such an app.

Great Yo-yo App to Learn and Grow

Great community and good people on Skill Addicts to help with anything yo-yo related, such as yo-yo issues, response pad trouble, responsive and unresponsive tips, questions with tricks or string configuration, and recommendations for yo-yos they may have, thrown, and what they like, different styles, etc. Over 1,000 tutorials for yoyo tricks for all styles, 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A. And, you can complete tricks to earn app currency (pills) to be able to earn/“buy” pretty cool stuff, even a Bimetal Yoyo!!! This app and the people have motivated me to complete and work on so many tricks and styles I never thought I would be throwing!!! Super fun!!

Great app with an honest learning experience

I have been using this app for a couple weeks now and I have nothing but love for it. The tutorials are great, the community is awesome.

The best part is the judging method. In order to complete a trick, you upload a video of it (awkward at first, but you get used to it) If there is anything wrong with the trick, you don’t pass, and the judges tell you why so you can improve, practice, and try again!

There is plenty of hand holding, but absolutely no participation awards. I love it!

PS you slowly gain “pills” as credits to use as you progress (FOR FREE) these credits can be used for real world items, just pay shipping. Strings, yoyos (including a beautiful Bi-Metal) and clothes

PPS more skill toys are coming with juggling coming VERY soon, I am excited to see this app get even better

Best app for yoyoing around

Keeps you motivated, huge community with a ever expanding set of custom tricks, get free stuff and the devs are constantly updating and fixing things.
Whats not to like

APP IS TOXIC

Do not download this app because the people on it are toxic and it is not good for unresponsive yo-yos if you are advanced at yoyoing download something like YoTricks?

Skill addiction

Must be to most used app I’ve ever had. Well because it’s something way different than everything else and it’s incredibly addictive! You will learn more than you could imagine!

Response from developer

Hello Cameronlian, we really glad for your feedback! Thank you so much for playing SkillAddicts app. Our goal is to make learning easier so we love that you enjoy learning with the app! -Vashek K.

Such FUN!!!!

I’ve played with a yoyo off and a for most of my life. I have learned more tricks and had more fun with a yoyo in the last seven months than I ever have before. Tricks start easy and move to very, very complex ones. New tricks are voted up or down as they are posted. This helps in learning. If you have a trick down voted, you can ask your peers how to improve. There are various chat categories. I have found these to be fun to join in on and I’ve seen yoyo recommendation that will guide the purchase of future yo-yos. I like this app a lot. I’m on it almost every day and I’m Yo-yoing almost every day, too.
