About

A meteor shower, a bright planet, a solar or lunar eclipse, the northern lights or a satellite passing over – SkyFlux tells you when and where to look, and whether the sky will be clear. All in one app, for your location. • Worth going out tonight? One 0–100 score from clouds, moonlight and twilight • 12 meteor showers: countdown to the peak, hourly rate, and whether the Moon interferes • Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn: when they are up, how high, and which way to face • Solar and lunar eclipses in a calendar, calculated even offline • Point your phone at the sky: planets and all 88 constellations over the camera view • Hourly cloud cover in three layers, wind and dew point • Aurora: NOAA forecast and an alert when it may reach you • Free alerts for meteor shower peaks, eclipses and the full Moon • With Plus, plan nights ahead and set your own reminders to the minute TONIGHT AND TOMORROW The score weighs cloud cover, darkness, moonlight, meteor showers and aurora chance; one short sentence says why. See the best clear window and when the planets are up, with altitude and direction, plus moonrise, moonset and ISS passes. METEOR SHOWERS Each shower shows the time to its peak, the hourly rate (ZHR) and whether the Moon gets in the way. The app guides you to the radiant, the point the meteors seem to come from. A meteor counter and a photo guide help while you watch. THE SKY THROUGH YOUR CAMERA All 88 constellations have lines and names, 85 of them with artwork. 83,468 stars come with the app; an optional download of about 6 MB adds 747,568 more. Also: 1,772 nebulae, star clusters and galaxies. To refine the compass, aim at the Sun, Moon, a bright planet or star and hold still – the app works out the offset. When cloudy, use a landmark. A few degrees of error can remain. Red night mode protects your dark adaptation. PLANETS, MOON AND ECLIPSES Planet pages give rise times, altitude and the next opposition or elongation. The Moon map labels seas, craters and six Apollo landing sites, with phase, illumination and age. Also: surface maps of 19 moons, 11 well-known comets and a 3D Solar System you can scroll through time. AURORA NOAA's Kp forecast covers three days and its 27-day outlook flags likely storm days. The aurora oval refreshes about every 30 minutes and the solar wind is measured every minute. From your geomagnetic latitude, SkyFlux works out which Kp brings the oval to you and shows the chance hour by hour. Alerts are opt-in and arrive even with the app closed – one per night. LIGHT POLLUTION AND OFFLINE The light pollution map shows how bright your sky is and where to find a darker one. The sky map, planets, Moon and eclipses work in airplane mode; weather, aurora, Sun images and satellites need a connection. FREE AND PLUS Every section above is free, and so is a sky journal that fills itself in on nights you open the app. Plus is for people who plan ahead: • Forecast 5, 7 or 10 nights for any place, with the best night highlighted and compared with home • See seven nights ahead at home; add chosen nights to your calendar • Which way and how far to drive to leave the city glow behind, for what you want to see that night • Your own reminders, to the minute, for a planet, the Moon, a shower or the aurora • A journal summary year by year Plus is a monthly or yearly subscription (the yearly one starts with 14 days free) or a one-time "Lifetime" purchase. Lifetime lasts as long as SkyFlux Plus is offered and includes features added later. PRIVACY No account. No ads. No tracking or analytics code of our own. Your precise location stays on your phone: weather requests use a position rounded to about 11 km. Only if you open Google Maps yourself does Google see your position. The camera image is never stored or sent. Crash reports are sent only with your permission. In 17 languages. Data: NOAA, NASA, Open-Meteo. What's New in SkyFlux

1.0.30

October 29, 2026

• Sunspots today: a new card on the Sun page with NOAA's count and the three largest regions. View the Sun only through solar viewing glasses or a solar filter. • Pick the tab the app opens on: Tonight, AR sky or Aurora (Settings > Home screen). • How-to guides in the More tab: short animated lessons for calibrating the compass, finding a planet and aurora alerts. • News now loads new stories by itself. • Offline, the aurora oval, cloud map and Sun images keep their last saved copy. • Calibration can use the Sun from 3° above the horizon. • Dozens of fixes from testing on real phones.
