Hi! We appreciate these comments. There are two places you can find more information: (1) In the app, you can click "more" next to the text description of your results below the "score." This will show you the estimated distribution of scores by parents at a given age. (2) You can visit Sleuth's website and see the Methodology and Data Validation sections (https://hellosleuth.com/help/about-data) for more information about how we collect and validate data. In many cases, our questions are based on widely used and extensively validated questionnaires. We make a strenuous effort to collect representative data from kids of different ages and circumstances across the U.S. to give you meaningful comparisons. As we mention, we've run 62,000 surveys for this purpose with more on the way. That said, this is a work in progress. Thank you for the review.

Hi from the Sleuth team! The stacking question is about "Stacking at least two small objects." We will investigate whether it's confusing people. We compare our scores against established peer-reviewed research that shows norms for kids' development to make sure these are closely in line. There are clear standards showing what percentages of kids can stack two objects at different ages - and our goal is to make the details available in a helpful way. But we don't always succeed.
Like the idea but needs some work
For example, for speech, it asks about whether your child speaks in plurals, i.e. feet or teeth.
It does not ask how many words they speak by a certain age (which would be the more relevant question in terms of speech delay, not factoring in other factors of course). Struggling to see how this app can be factual when I’m not understanding its source data.

Fun idea but has some flaws!
My second problem is that there seems to be a discrepancy in results. For example it asked if my 20mo old was coloring in the lines and drawing things I recognized. To both I answered not at all. The results said that she was slightly late in both these categories. Then underneath said these skills typically develop around age 5 but 3 would be early. This is a confusing discrepancy. I guess compared to 70 percent other app users with 20 months old she is late. I have a hard time believing that many if any 20 month olds are coloring in the lines and drawing recognizable pictures. The results make me question the validity of the other quizzes as well.
The last minor feedback is that the app led me into a quiz on potty training but I think the first question should be “have you started potty training yet?”.
TLDR: the app is a fun idea but needs more user data that is correctly self reported and more specificity and examples within the quiz questions.
