Insomnia

This app works every night for me. I’m sleeping before it ends. Give it a shot - what do you got to lose

It’s ok .

Better if it played in the background. It doesn’t.

Slumber App

The app is AMAZING. I just wish more of the stories were free

Doesn’t show up in my Mindful Minutes on my Apple Watch.

Can’t get help for this. Don’t waste your money

SLUMBER

My review is ok. The only problem is that most of the stories are locked. Like, I don’t have the money to pay for a subscription. But the rest is great. Just wish there were more free ones.

Amazing!

Slumber is the best app ever! It can help you fall asleep instantly, works amazingly! One thing if you do get it get the membership it’s so cheap and you get access to all the stories my favorite is the 12 sleeping princesses! Definitely recommend!

Excellent app

I use Slumber almost every night when I wake up in the middle of the night and cannot immediately go back to sleep. Although each speaker is a little bit different, most of the meditations are very calming, relaxing, and supportive of sleep.

Storytellers

My only "complaint" for want of a better word is that I find it extremely difficult to understand the French Whisper. I love the topics he discusses but I don't listen because I can't understand him with his French accent . I'm sure he is doing his best and I'm sorry for this "complaint" but I wish I could listen to the topics he presents.

Slumber

Slumber makes me so calm that sometimes I falls asleep while reading my book and just helps me forget all the bad stuff and it opens the gate for happiness

Using this app for years now

Amazing consistency, love Sam, Olympia, Arif, French Whisperer, Dan Jones and the dragon stories, Elizabeth Grace…

Love the “history of” stories too

And Elizabeth reading Wizard of Oz, she has fun voices.

Mistake.

I’ve liked slumber a lot, especially Dan Jones. Now you need to change the name to the Thomas channel. I do like the music though.

Lots of stories

My favorite story involves something I typically get excited about. In daily life, I’ll go to a yarn store and bounce with excitement looking at all the tools, skeins of yarn, and potential projects. I was torn when I saw Slumber had an episode where someone spends a day in a Knitting Shop. There’s no way, I thought, to get sleep from something so exciting.
I know someone walks into the shop. I remember something about different kinds of yarn. That’s it. I’m always asleep before I reach the end. I don’t know how Slumber did it. It’s NOT boring. It’s…pleasant. It’s nice. And I can’t stay awake. To be fair, I haven’t tried. I think it stimulates my excitement in a way where I start to dream about the possibilities but does not make me want to get up to start crafting.
The result is a clear mind the next day. My energy has picked up and I don’t struggle to get out of bed as much.

I want to rate this highly but

The problem is… Thomas Jones’ voice is on the VAST majority of any of the stories. Almost exclusively. And that would be fine except the reason there need to be voice options is because not every voice works for everyone. Unfortunately, his voice (though I adore a British accent) does the opposite of soothe my mind so I can drift to sleep. There simply are not many other voices to choose from and the ones there are… are not stories I want to play. So this app has to go & I’ll go back to “BETTER SLEEP”

Variety is fantastic

Slumber is truly a blessing for someone with horrible sleep issues as myself. Winding down for sleep I would select a story to hopefully fall asleep to. It was like someone was reading a night time story to me again like when I was a little girl! Some of the artist voices were so soothing that I fell asleep quickly. I don’t normally take the time to write reviews but Slumber has indeed helped me with my sleep. Unfortunately, I’ve had to cancel my subscription for reasons that I wish I didn’t have to. I will truly miss the stories, and their customer service support (I’m a bit of a neophyte on apps ) but they walked me through it all with the highest respect. This is all the truth. Best to Slumber and to whomever is reading this review.

Replaces intrusive, negative thoughts with stories, music and sounds

I have PTSD and going to sleep has been a nightmare for me for years. I take different sleep aids through the week in hopes I’ll pass out before my mind spirals. I tried this app expecting it to be more annoying than relaxing, but it was actually nice.

This app has many genres to choose from like sleep meditations, imaginative stories, classic books and tales, sleepy histories, and more. It even has a genre of stories with no plot for the nights when I’m very mentally active. The lack of a plot lets my mind create imagery without any longing to learn what happens next.

I love that I can control the volume of the voice, music and sound independently. You can have a track loop and repeat or have the music and white noise continue on as long as you like. I recommend earbuds that are designed for sleeping/lying down if you don’t have speakers or have a partner in bed.

I’m not as scared to go to bed anymore and it’s only been 2 weeks after 16 years of debilitating sleep stress. So thank you to all involved in making this app and all the options available to fit any mood or night. Other apps couldn’t do what you do and I’m so grateful. Thank you.

Sleep

This app is awesome! It helps me go to sleep every night. They also have so many different varieties of stories, from history to fairytales. I have really enjoyed this app, whenever I can’t sleep I just turn on a story and it knocks me right out!

The Thomas Jones app

This used to be my favorite app and I began to use it exclusively (over Calm which I had previously loved for years!) and somewhere in the past year I realized that every single new story was narrated by Thomas Jones. I like his voice, sure, but there are LOADS of incredible voices and lately it has been 20 new Thomas jones episode for every 1 of someone else’s. 😑

Where’s the variety?

Please stop using Thomas Jones on every single track

If I could give it 10 stars, I would

I am not typically a person that leaves reviews for things, but it’s important to me that people understand the benefit of apps like these, so I figured I should start. 6 years ago I began experiencing symptoms of severe OCD, and during intense panic attacks caused by the condition, the ‘Leaf on a Stream’ sleep meditation (narrated by Bethany Auriel-Hagan) is the only thing that calms me enough to be able to sleep, and get through to the next day. I unfortunately can’t afford to have the subscription anymore, but I don’t say lightly that having even the free version of this app has saved my life on multiple occasions. To the developers and narrators - thank you for making this specific one available for free, and for this app in general, and for giving so many options to customise it (eg. increase rain sounds). Hire Bethany to make many more similar ones if you can, and keep up the amazing work. For anyone else struggling to sleep - even if none of the others work (I know hearing people talk about a subject personally just keeps me awake for example), try the leaf on a stream one. if it can help me at my lowest, hopefully it can help you too.
