Good service, poor app function
Been using this app for quite a while now and the overall service is great. The design is also good as an app and intuitive. BUT the system functions poorly on iOS. The markets will go blank when going between tabs, there’s lag and sometimes error messages for unknown reasons so you have to restart the app. It’s an ongoing issue that doesn’t get fixed and gets very frustrating.

Terrible customer service
Since I now never get a response from the support team by email I thought I’d leave a review. Don’t even try to earn a good wage from this app, as they’ll limit your deposit limit to 500 a month, and reject any kind of increase you request without even seeing relevant documents proving that an increase is necessary. I’ve used this app for over a month and earned a very good amount relatively, multiplying my earnings and making a good wage, yet now I can’t use it to my full limit since I’ve been restricted. Betfair is great, the customer service actually ask you for documents when asking for an increase, and have the same review team unlike smarkets being completed unrelated to their deposit team

Live streaming of racing throws an error (Aug 2025)- restarting the app doesn’t solve
The bids go blank when moving from tabs at times and only way is to restart the app to resolve this

Hey, I’ve been using Smarkets for a while and really appreciate how easy the app is to use. The odds are better than most other sites I’ve tried. Really pleased with their customer service, quick to respond and super helpful with my questions!

I don’t like the black background and find some parts difficult to navigate I will probably go elsewhere if I ca find a way to cancel.
Customer service is horrendous
Simply put it’s just 3rd best, less choice of matches and slow to update. Good luck if you need to contact customer support as they must have a script to fob you off . The real trouble comes if you place a bet, win and they retrospectively decide to void it, probably illegal. If you do use it then I’d use a third party to deposit as I wouldn’t be comfortable trusting them with bank details .

In response to the feedback - I received an email from Smarkets stating I placed a bet at 12:50:35 (which won) and then this was voided at 12:53:28 …….. so nearly 3 minutes after my bet do the whole 8 seconds thing is quite frankly a lie .

Worst app ever
Constant lagging, rebuffing, disconnections, reconnections, response times when selecting prices or stakes overlapping and creating errors. Advise if continuing to use this app be extremely careful and patient when entering any information as it could cost you big time. I only put a star in so I could rate this c**p in all honestly if you get to read this RUN FROM THIS NOW

Dynamic Island causes an issue
Great app - except Dynamic Island isn’t accounted for. You can’t read some notifications.
Poor customer service, slow app
I want to start by recommending users to try the competition. Matchbook have a great app, new feature and a responsive customer service team. Betfair, as expected, have a strong team and a very good app. Smarkets will consistently let you down.
Understandable that there are new betting regulations and so more know your customer checks have to happen, however Smarkets is incredibly inefficient. There have been a number of times where they have taken a week to respond, only to ask for the same documents that I had sent that week before. This, combined with the loss of access to deposits and other features, can mean that you lose access to your account for months at a time (I have been in the process for over a month now and it is still not sorted, and know someone else with the same experience). There is also no good feedback system, I have requested to talk to managers and report the awful service but these requests are left blank.
I am unsure who is responsible within the team for the severe lack of competence, however I have the names of the people who frequently send the same request back and so would expect management to contact me to get rid of the bad apples.

Excellent easy to use App
Awful UI, functionality just doesn’t work
I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall the app over 10 times, constantly doesn’t load live bets/prices, sometimes doesn’t load anything at all. Do not download app better just sticking with it in browser mode
Terrible can’t even use
Don’t know if it’s an update but doesn’t work at all. Doesn’t ask me to login and doesn’t show me my balance. Shutting down app and restarting doesn’t work either. Unusable.

Awful app
Don’t use this cost me £36 due to an IT outage at antree festival. Won’t support no phone likes check it out for yourself. Also look how many outages they have on big events don’t use it use matchbook or Betfair.
Like it
It takes a bit of getting used to after using betfair for years, but I now use smarkets for all of my laying. The profit and loss tools are much Easier to acces and use on the app
Slow withdrawals, app slow to respond, too many outages/pricing issues
Will stick with BFEx and MB from now on. Can’t be dealing with the uncertainty Smarkets provides.
