Malfunctioning August 2026
Location Maps not loading on live activity, just a white screen, this use to work but not anymore. alerts are not received on requested times only when 3 to 4 minutes away instead of 10 as requested.
Terrible App DO NOT RECOMMEND
The app is for school bus riding and it hardly ever keeps up with the students on the bus. Doesn’t update the location very often and it’s super slow and annoying. Try to use a different one that actually works, because this one doesn’t.
Great app!
This app is so helpful. It shows where the bus is in relationship to the bus stop, so our kids can track how far away it is from picking them up at the stop. There are alerts that can be set for when the kids have been dropped at school, when the bus has left school to come back home, and alerts as to how many minutes away the bus is from picking up and/or dropping off. There are easy notifications from the district with route changes and time changes. I really appreciate this app. It brings a lot of peace of mind as a parent. There is nothing I would add or change about this app! It's amazing.

Why cant i see location??
The school website advertises i can track my kids location while on the bus yet i only get notified when she gets on? I also have an alert turned on to notify me when bus is 5 minutes away and i have yet to receive one notification!!
Slow
This smart tag application is incredibly slow to load. The intervals in which it tracks GPS and reports it back are sometimes 10 minutes behind where the actual bus has your child. Absolute garbage.
Wish our school district would choose a different app
This app is terrible. First day of school and it doesn’t work. Just a spinning circle. Notifications have not worked in years. I was hoping they would work properly this year but they don’t.
Add student function
I really like this app it truck does give me peace of mind knowing my son got to school okay. I would really like the app to have a function where the students could track the bus as it’s arriving. There has been times when the bus comes early and my son didn’t know and the app didn’t tell me so he missed the bus. I feel if he was able to have some type of way he was notified he could have run out there in time.

App keeps closing
As I scroll to look for my student’s school to create an account the app just closes repeatedly.
Manual load notification
Please add a push notification option for when a student is manually loaded on the bus. Our school district has a policy that once the student has been manually loaded (i.e. forgot their Smart Tag) five times (“strikes”) in one semester, then the student cannot ride the bus until they find/buy a new Smart Tag. The problem is that there is no system in place to notify parents, until it’s too late and your student is denied a ride home. A simple push notification would be extremely helpful to keep track of manual loads. (Yes I know I can login each day and see how my student loaded.)

Doesn’t update when bus is on the the way it’s only update me while child is at school being picked up.

i was looking were the bus was and it said 30min away it was already 7:30 and the app kept logging me out all the time i went to check it this experience was absolutely terrible
Live Activity
When accessing live activity I cannot tell what is going on or where the bus is. I accessed it this morning before sending my son out and could only see - “Michael’s bus is on it…” Is on its way? Is on its way to the school and he missed it? Is simply on its way to the school? This feature needs the ability to show the complete message.

I can never see the live map when my student is in route to and from school tried to contact “customer service” multiple times only to find there is no true customer service

I absolutely love the SmartTag app and how useful it is for parents. Being notified when my daughter gets on and off the bus, when she’s dropped off at school, picked up, and even how close she is to being dropped off gives me incredible peace of mind. As a parent, that level of awareness is priceless and makes every school day feel a little less stressful.
While I know the app could use some minor fixes here and there, I truly believe many concerns come from parents wanting more without fully understanding how the system is meant to work. Overall, SmartTag does exactly what it’s supposed to do—and it does it well. I genuinely appreciate how it keeps me updated and connected to my child’s daily routine. I’m very thankful for SmartTag and the reassurance it provides!

Bad app
This app is bad. It kills my battery and over heats my phone. B4 support gives me useless tips. I’m on the newest iPhone with newest app version

This my 1st year
This is my son’s 6th grade school year and my 1st time using the app I love it it keeps us from standing outside in the heat and cold I track the bus and it’s lets me know when to tell him to go to the bus stop I know exactly when he’s getting home in the afternoon I love it
Notifications consistently don’t work
Despite allowing all notifications for this app, I routinely don’t get them. This is a problem since some days my child’s bus takes a different route and arrives 20 minutes early. Luckily my neighbor was there today and I had set her as an allowed adult, else I don’t know what would have happened.
Multiple didtricts
There is no way to link students from multiple districts to one account.
Not working
The app was working fine at first. Now, I do not get any notifications for my child’s bus. It shows he’s on the account but it’s no longer linked. Please fix the issue.
