Constantly Glitching
I’m a new substitute and therefore new to this app. I like it in theory, but it is poorly executed. When I open the app, 8 times out of 10 it fully freezes. I have to try closing and reopening the app several times before it actually works. I am missing out on work opportunities because of this.
only one issue
ive been subbing for 3 years now, and this is the only app ive used to accept assignments; so, i cant compare it to anything else. my only issue is that the specific grade level is not displayed on each assignment available. it would be amazing to be able to see which grade level i will be subbing for, rather than being given a range (3-5, 6-8) and having to wait and find out when i arrive at the school. every sub doesnt do well with all grade levels, so them having the option to see before accepting could potentially lower issues on both sides.

Email change
The app works great for signing up for sub jobs, but a simple task like changing my email has become impossible. I tried it all last school year and I’m trying to do it now and it even though I put in my email and I confirm it, it still won’t let me save it. It’s got some glitches.
Awful App
App freezes 80% of the time I log in. I can’t click on anything.
Does not Work
This app sucks, it does not alert me if any jobs are available and I have to keep looking on the website to see if there are any openings available. Also it would not send me a reset email for 3 weeks. This app does not work at all, and they need to find a better one.
Missing
I would love to see the teachers grades because it only appears teacher

The app itself is archaic. You will wait 30 seconds for a refresh. Filters do not work.
Merge Accounts
06/03/26 I would love if this database could merge my accounts. I sub for multiple districts and it would be more convenient to have one log in and to be able to view all districts and jobs at once. Frontline has this capability. Thank you.

I LOVE SMARTFIND EXPRESS! It’s so easy to manage my jobs by just opening the app and clicking a few buttons! I see some improvement is needed, but overall it’s an amazing tool to stay current and in control with your substitute shifts.

Need assignment to see assignments
You have to pick up an assignment on the website to see any future assignments on the app. Only once you have an assignment will the app fetch future assignments. Whenever I do not have an assignment, the app returns zero results. When I have an assignment, the app shows results. This bug has existed for months if not a year.

JANKY!
I can’t accept listed roles b/c the system calls others and won’t allow you accept a role whilst it calls others. Then the role disappears, frustrating.
Also not many options to access settings. Like no where is there help/support. Password reset etc.

Need Confirmation
Please add a Confirmation check once job is accepted. I’ve accidentally accepted jobs because of location of button on app from my phone and then have to cancel. After accepting a job, have a confirmation pop up we must click onto so this doesn’t happen. Thank you.
Bugs Galore
Tried to cancel ONE job, it cancelled ALL of my jobs, and I cannot uncancel them on the website (I tried). None of the links give indication that they’re being clicked. Phone numbers are images (meaning you cannot even copy the number so you can call it let alone simply click it).
Not great
As someone who has subbed in various districts, this is the least user-friendly app for finding jobs I have come across. The available jobs search is incredibly janky. Why do I have to wait several seconds just for it to “fetch” the next set of 10 or so jobs? If I tap something while it’s still ‘thinking’, it often just breaks altogether and comes up with a time-out error that indicates I can “search again in X seconds” but I usually just have to close out of the app entirely to get it working again.
Filtering for jobs by location doesn’t work on the app; I don’t know if this more on my district’s end but I can’t actually filter for location, which also allows me to filter by grade level, etc which is irritating because then I have to wait ages (see above) while I scroll through jobs I don’t want. The filters are all available when I log in on a computer, however.
The in-app calendar is nice, but why is there no option to add assignments to my own personal calendar? Pretty much everything comes with an ‘Add to Calendar’ button nowadays. That would be a huge quality of life improvement.

Ok could be better
I love that you can see that k is bk and q is queens but wish they added the address on the main screen instead of having to click on the jobs to see the address.
Also I wish you could click on locations to separate Brooklyn from queens instead of scrolling through it all. I live in queens so I don’t want to see bk unless I click on it. So it could be better . Also we should have access to all districts in NY just in case. My daughter lives in Manhattan and sometimes I stay for two months but would like to work there . So give us more options all the time . You do this and you have more availability and help in locations needed.

This app works well but I wish it would do more
I sub for two different districts. The wish it was easier to switch back and forth between districts. Is there a way I could create a user name that I can use for both districts instead of having to enter each district’s numeric id code?
I would also love it if when I take a job, this automatically got added to my calendar so that I don’t manually have to enter it risking the chance that I might forget and schedule a conflict between two districts.
These two additions to the app would make things so much easier to navigate!
