Great App for Substitute Teachers
I’ve been a substitute teacher/paraprofessional for my school district through Kelly Services since May 2026. This is the app they use for us to pick assignments for the different schools on any given weekday. I haven’t had any issues so far.

Please add a feature to “add to calendar”.
06/03/26 I would love if this database could merge my accounts. I sub for multiple districts and it would be more convenient to have one log in and to be able to view all districts and jobs at once. Frontline has this capability. Thank you.

Room for improvement
After the last major update it became better, but if my mobile carrier is not on the list then I will never be able to receive text alert for job cancellation. Also the app should show robot call in session from which time frame and should tell you if you can still do selection via app.
Downloads are all blank
Teachers are apparently downloading instructions but anytime I go to open them, it says there is no data and they are completely blank. They have a title, for example, it will say will say sub lesson plan with the date and nothing else. I don’t think this is a me issue. I think it’s a SFE issue. So teachers are thinking that we have information that we don’t, they are frustrated when we show up and don’t know things. If SFE is not going to make it easy for a teacher to upload and us to just read it in the app, why bother to have a place for that? An even better question is, why do I have to download it to my phone? That’s really annoying. There’s no open. There’s no preview, you can only “download”.

Fantastic
My first year this app was extremely helpful! So easy to use and pretty explainatory.
Needs a lot of work
Most frustrating thing about the app is that if a teacher includes an attachment, there is no way to get to it. I’ve tried downloading it on an iPhone and an android and having people help me and nobody can find where that attachment goes. Also, after years of using the system, teachers in our district still do not put what they teach so just have that set into the system. Those would be too big things to start with.

Meh
Not my favourite app in the slightest. It works to get phone calls at the moment but I miss my old school board where I could SEE EVERY. AVAILABLE. POSTING. Anything that was not yet assigned. Maybe I had plans, and they were cancelled. Now we have teachers without coverage because I hit the wrong button on the phone to decline, or am suddenly free to work, and have no way to pick it up the night before or morning of.

Signal app
The signal to this app doesn’t work in some districts area schools travel to work. Siting in a staff room or classroom or out of range areas makes it hard for staff to see what schools need them
Notifications
I don’t receive notifications for jobs even though I have notifications on. You’d have to check the app constantly to know if a job is available, and that is not realistic. Please make it so I can get notified every time a job is uploaded!
Constantly Glitching
I’m a new substitute and therefore new to this app. I like it in theory, but it is poorly executed. When I open the app, 8 times out of 10 it fully freezes. I have to try closing and reopening the app several times before it actually works. I am missing out on work opportunities because of this.
only one issue
ive been subbing for 3 years now, and this is the only app ive used to accept assignments; so, i cant compare it to anything else. my only issue is that the specific grade level is not displayed on each assignment available. it would be amazing to be able to see which grade level i will be subbing for, rather than being given a range (3-5, 6-8) and having to wait and find out when i arrive at the school. every sub doesnt do well with all grade levels, so them having the option to see before accepting could potentially lower issues on both sides.

Email change
The app works great for signing up for sub jobs, but a simple task like changing my email has become impossible. I tried it all last school year and I’m trying to do it now and it even though I put in my email and I confirm it, it still won’t let me save it. It’s got some glitches.
Awful App
App freezes 80% of the time I log in. I can’t click on anything.
Does not Work
This app sucks, it does not alert me if any jobs are available and I have to keep looking on the website to see if there are any openings available. Also it would not send me a reset email for 3 weeks. This app does not work at all, and they need to find a better one.
Missing
I would love to see the teachers grades because it only appears teacher

I’ve had many issues with the app in the spring. Just tried it again still doesn’t work. Filters do not work
Slow, unworkable
The app itself is archaic. You will wait 30 seconds for a refresh. Filters do not work.

I LOVE SMARTFIND EXPRESS! It’s so easy to manage my jobs by just opening the app and clicking a few buttons! I see some improvement is needed, but overall it’s an amazing tool to stay current and in control with your substitute shifts.
