Pay?
Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see anywhere that the app costs. I downloaded it and was putting in my information when I was told I would get two days free and then would have to pay to continue. It didn’t say how much. Im very leery of on line purchases
Maybe I don’t have it setup correctly
I live near NY and Connecticut which has Parkways with very low bridges and no trucks or RV’s are allowed. I did use a truck app that did well but no CarPlay. I download this app because it had CarPlay and it is
for Rv’s. Now my comments, 1st when you use CarPlay you get the map but no other info unless you look at the phone. Example, how far is it to your exit. If you’re listening to your radio and the app announcement comes on, your radio stops playing until you select it again. Lastly, on my last trip (190 miles) the app lockup 4 times.
Good idea for this app but it needs a lot of updating

Highly Reliable
My wife and I have been full-time since May 2014. We were not initially aware of SmartRoute; I do not recall exactly when we found it, probably something my wife came across. For us it has saved us a number of times from routes from Google that have vertical clearance issues, weather closures in three round trips from Albany, Oregon to Raleigh, North Carolina with excursions to sightsee or visit family/friends in both directions. It has never failed to get us to/from an Interstate and an RV park without incident or clear routing through a urban area involving multiple interchanges beltways or other interstate highways.

Have used this app for trips across 10 states so far and with one exception, it gave us the best routing for our RV. Verbal and other audio alerts are helpful as is the ability to customize what the map shows and what alerts are received, e.g., truck stops by name and distance. The one exception for good routing took us through a dense urban area for about a mile- there was significant road construction everywhere so that may have been the reason. Overall, very satisfied and renewed the subscription.

This is a truckers app ! It appears to like city traffic.
