Ugh

Awful awful awful. Update 7/31/26 somehow even worse. I hate this app with every ounce of my being. The fact that I need it to even get the discount is truly disgusting g

Delivery only options

I’m getting really sick and tired of going to order our regulars only for them to all be labeled “Delivery Only” I DONT WANT MY STUFF DELIVERED. I can’t afford the extra charges I just want to pick it up myself! When I physically go in the store to get these items myself they are on the shelf so there is no excuse as to why a picker can’t put it in my pickup bag! Why do you do this!? If I had time to physically shop every time I would but clearly I don’t. Please fix this!!

Buggy software

I typed in my email address twice and no verification code was sent

Still pricing errors

I’ve been complaining for years about the advertised sale price shown on the shelves does not match what ends up on the receipt.
Every time we shop at Smiths I come home and check the receipt and every time there are errors. Today a produce item that was suppose to be on sale for 2 for $3. The two of them rang up at regular the price of $4.49 each. And yes I faithfully scan every item for digital coupons, I check to see if multiple items are required to get the discount and I always scan my membership at the checkout.
If I question the price at checkout the employee will always say the price will adjust once I total the bill. But that’s not always the case.
It saddens me that I can’t trust Smith’s pricing when other grocery stores’ apps doesn’t have any problem giving me an accurate price for their groceries.

App is terrible

Pharmacists are always saying use the app and then the app doesn’t work 90% of the time for prescriptions.

Great App needs help with wallet

The wallet errors are the most disappointing about this app. It has a had time pulling up stored cards, and sometimes it’ll show it but it won’t let you purchase with it saying there’s an error even though my bank says my card is fine.

Buggiest app ever

I use this app solely for the pharmacy, the app only functions about 30% of the time; I frequently cannot pick up meds on time because the app crashed or is unusable. It's actually insane how a company with this much money has managed to make such a useless app.

New 2025 version of app is terrible

The new app is so bad. There is no search on the main screen. There is no basket on the main screen. There is no way to access your current order on the main screen.

I guess the app designers think you'll just accept it shop for what they recommend on the main screen.

Rewards card broken!

Dev team removed back end functionality to support reward card, so even though there is a menu option to add Fresh Values Reward Card to Apple Wallet you receive a Technical Difficulties error message. This means you also can't get notifications when you are in store. Contacted customer service and was told that functionality was no longer active, so apparently instead of improving the app they are making it worse.

Unwanted Pushes

Within the app, some of the shopping is convoluted, especially the deals, but manageable. I mostly use the app for pickup orders. What I loathe about Smiths is that the app pushes ads and deals that I don’t want as well as order notifications that I do want. I can always open the app if I’m looking for deals. They do not provide a breakdown of Push Preferences in the account settings, so I am either stuck with no push notifications or all the push notifications, which include promotions, suggestions, and other nonsense. This lack of control over notifications is all too common.

Not user friendly!

Kroger is SO SO SO very expensive, I avoid shopping there but the employees are all great, they’re amazing! And my favorite pharmacy. Whoever made this app obviously didn’t care. It’s dysfunctional, unintuitive and it’s just difficult to use. There are way too many options-options no one needs to see on the app. Maybe it’s my old phones fault but why doesn’t the app make me aware that it needs an update lol? The app opens and works like usual but when it’s time to pay at the register, not be of my coupons or ‘weekly deals’ are there. I just avoid the app if I can.

Meh

I’ve used smiths for such a long time and never have issues. The app on the other hand is useless!! I’ve tried to use the delivery pickup option so many times and get an error message that tells me to call customer service which got me no where. I’ve tried to link up my prescriptions so I can see if they are ready etc and I’m told my info is wrong. It is not wrong the customer service at the store helped me get it updated. This app is trash

Clunky Loading Experience

Lag time on this app is frequently slow….which is the same on the website as well…
Smith’s itself I enjoy, but I highly recommend focusing on improvements in your app and website.

Update is terrible again

Update: you don’t get credit for all of the digital coupons, even if you follow the terms to the letter. Seems fraudulent. Not okay to take advantage of us when grocery prices are growing and growing.

They fixed the cart. That’s it.

I don’t like the update. I thought it would be smoother and easier, but instead it’s very buggy. It’s laggy. It’s a pain to go through coupons b/c it’s impossible to smoothly go back to where you were on the coupon page. The cart is gone from the bottom, which is just a stupid idea. Bring back the old app. Don’t make changes just to say you did. And if you do, don’t use the Acme Budget App Making Corporation.

I don’t understand why if they’re out of one item on a digital coupon, this app refuses to even offer a different item from that coupon. Instead they offer what isn’t on sale so they can get twice as much from you.

New update: the app got worse. Now it shows you being charged a different price than you're being charged. If you keep screwing up this app customers are going to shop elsewhere.

Useless Now

The favorites list is now useless. Can't add items to the shopping cart from the favorites list unless you use the new "updated" way of doing it - which hides the sale prices from view. App updates should make the app easier to use, not less.

A step backwards! Shopping From Favorites No Longer Works Properly.

The latest update to the Smith’s app has made one of its most useful features practically useless.

Before the update, I could shop directly from my Favorites list and easily add items to my cart while seeing current sale prices. Now, the Favorites list seems to be nothing more than a reference page. I have to scroll through it to see what’s on sale, then switch to “Shop from List” and try to remember which items I wanted to buy because the shopping view doesn’t display the sale information or sale prices.

This creates an unnecessary back-and-forth process that makes shopping far more frustrating than it used to be. If the goal was to improve the user experience, this update missed the mark. A grocery shopping app should make it easier to build a cart from saved items, not require customers to memorize sale items while jumping between screens.

Please bring back the ability to shop directly from Favorites with sale pricing visible. Until then, this update feels like a significant step backward.

Save your sanity

In 2026 the app is useless. You are better off going back to paper lists.

Literal Garbage

The app never works on WiFi and half the time it won’t let me sign in.

Literally the least user-friendly & most infuriating app of all time!

It’s impossible to see adjust and your cart and items, their prices are so misleading! especially in-store. Literally makes me want to stop shopping at smiths all together when I go to the app for convenience and it’s anything but. Ugh.

Card number stolen

I’ve now had to get a new card due to my card number being stolen after making a pick up order. This is the second time this happened.
