Genius!

I love this app

add feature and i’ll pay for app

if the app had an option to set a timer such as 15 minutes for an app and once the times up you need to do 500 steps to open app again.

The only thing that’s worked

I’ve tried a lot of social media blockers and this would have to be the only one that’s worked. My screen time went down 30% in the first week and I love that I have to be active to be rewarded. Whoever developed this app is a genius

I hope I’m changing!!

Steps > likes!!! I’m headed out for my daily walk to encourage my 5k steps before looking at my socials! I even took a walk before thanksgiving dinner so I could scroll a little. I’m excited for future enhancements to this app. I’d love to be able to assign different step goals for different days of the week!

It’s great when it works

But lately it’s not been blocking any apps automatically. The point is so I don’t doom scroll in bed; then I wake up and none of the apps are blocked unless I open this app first, which an addicted brain probably won’t do 🥲 kind of annoyed I’m PAYING for it when it doesn’t usually work.

Hi BNB1001, Sorry to hear that this is your experience, we have just pushed a new update that fixes the issue you were describing. Please do let us know if you are still having any issues. Thanks,

Great app

Fantastic app and love the functionality. I haven’t been spending nearly as much time on social media with I LOVE. Only downside is that it takes a while to sync. I haven’t connected it to my Garmin but even after I hit my step goal on my Garmin, it doesn’t reflect in the app. Would say it’s the only downside!! When that gets sorted, it will be flawless. Very happy I came across it and have been recommending it to everyone!

Good. But expensive and buggy

Good for keeping you off your socials. However £8 a month is steep when effectively this functionality already exists on the iPhone (Screen time). Alongside this, the app is annoyingly buggy. It will often not let you snooze the functionality, and you’ll have to close and reopen it before it allows you too. Then sometimes you click snooze and it does nothing, meaning you’ve got to hit your step limit, change your settings or delete the app to get access. It’s just annoying and sadly has made me cancel.

Glitchy

Really great idea but the app is soooo glitchy, specifically when trying to choose which apps you want to limit

Great app!

This app is honestly one of my new favorites. I tend to open socials for my boutique first thing in the mornings and depending on the questions/feedback it can kickstart my day the wrong way. This app sets me up for success by forcing movement before work/social media. It’s truly awesome!

Doesn’t work

After having a free trial and paying a full year subscription, the restrictions on selected apps stopped working. I’m able to access all social media platforms that are restricted so it doesn’t work for me at all. I also couldn’t find a help button on the app hence why I’m leaving a review here.

Great app!

Started using Social Limits a couple weeks ago and it’s become part of my daily routine. The app works well, I never realised how much time I spent on my phone in the morning.

I would love some more interactive features on the leaderboard but other than that very happy with the impact it’s had on my daily routine.

This app genuinely changed my life

Saw a few influencers I follow promoting this, thought I’d download it and give it a try expecting it to be somewhat gimmicky.

Honestly the best app I have on my phone. When I first downloaded it I thought I’d be walking back and forth trying to unlock my social apps, but I’ve actually found myself increasing the steps I need to take more and more. I’ve never felt more mentally calm and at ease, I had no idea how draining my doom scrolling was until I stopped it. I’m more productive, mentally energised, and overall just feel so much better and less reliant on these doom scrolling apps.

100% recommend it to any fellow dopamine junkies, simple concept but it works to beat that dependency.

Super Effective Productivity App

I feel like most people tend to use screen time on iOS to limit their social media use and increase productivity, but it’s so easy to just click ignore and easily access your apps again. Downloaded this app as a busy medical student and can honestly say that it’s been so helpful to stop the doom scrolling and be productive throughout the day all while getting my steps in!! Not only am I way more motivated to get more steps in to be able to unlock my apps but if I don’t reach it for the day, at least that means I haven’t wasted time on socials 😌 so it’s really a win-win either way. Looking forward to an update where we can increase our step goal to more than 5K!

Hi, thank you for the positive feedback we love that you are enjoying the app. We have listened and recently added an update where you can increase your step goal up to 10k. It’s live on the App Store now, enjoy!

Helping me connect better to nature/ life

I’ve really enjoyed using this app. The 7-day trial has had such a positive impact on me, allowing me to wake up naturally, get outside, move my body, and connect with nature and life.

Here are my wins from using the app:
1. I no longer start my day scrolling through social media.
2. I’m getting outside, moving my body, and connecting with nature and the world around me.
3. For the past 7 days, I’ve consistently hit my daily step count.

It’s been amazing to realise how subconsciously my first instinct in the mornings used to be to scroll through Instagram, TikTok, or other social media before starting my day. What an incredible shift this has been! Now, the first thing I look forward to is stepping outside, getting some steps in, and moving—not to unlock those apps, but purely for myself and the way it makes me feel.

Feedback for the App

I’ve really enjoyed using the app and would like to share a few suggestions that could enhance the user experience:

1.Short Videos for Post-Step Activities:
It would be great to include short 5–10 minute videos, such as morning yoga, meditation, or flexibility routines, that users can access after completing their step count. These could add variety and help users cool down or start their day positively.
2.Motivational Notifications:
Adding app notifications to alert users when they’ve reached milestones like the halfway mark of their step count would be a fantastic motivator.
3.Challenge Notifications:
It would also be helpful to have notifications encouraging users to challenge themselves by increasing their daily step count, especially just before the social media ban starts.

App has great potential but at the moment has a few issues

This app has great potential but at the moment doesn’t work properly. Trying to restrict apps, the screen glitches all over the place and restricts apps I didn’t choose to like the camera app. Not having a completely free version is a given when it’s a new app but inconvenient to people who don’t want to pay another subscription or don’t have the money. A completely free version with a few adds when opened would be a great alternative. Lastly it would be very convenient if this app linked with watches like Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Watches etc for more precise tracking as people like me don’t take there phones every time we walk.
Overall, this app is a great idea with a few issues which could be improved greatly by fixing glitches, having a completely free version and connecting with watches. Great app however I am unable to use it because of the glitches and subscription based plan.

Great app to stop doom scrolling

Social Limits has reduced the hours I spend scrolling endlessly on social media. Love the idea of having to reach a step goal each day before opening Instagram. Great design, it works and awesome idea!

Works exactly how it’s supposed to - I’m scrolling less and moving more!

This app is so simple and easy to use yet so effective at stopping me from scrolling in the morning.

I’m not spending the most productive part of my day mindlessly dopamine chasing. Highly recommend downloading and giving it a go if you’ve been struggling with self control over your screen time.

Thank you Social Limits!!

Good App

I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to improve their productivity and wellbeing. It not only helps you limit time on social media but also keeps you on track with your fitness goals. The step counter and workout tracker provide valuable insights into your daily activity, making it easier to stay motivated and accountable. It offers free access, and if you choose to purchase, it’s incredibly affordable & it’s such a great deal. Most importantly, it helps break patterns and habits that aren’t serving you. Overall, it’s worth it and an excellent tool for enhancing both mental and physical health. I absolutely love it !!

This app is incredible! Immediately I not Ed the difference from the first time I woke up. I went to scroll on instagram in bed like I usually do, this app stopped that and made me get out of bed and on with my day, putting me in a positive mood the day. I love it, highly recommend!

Better morning routine
