Genius!

I love this app

add feature and i’ll pay for app

if the app had an option to set a timer such as 15 minutes for an app and once the times up you need to do 500 steps to open app again.

The only thing that’s worked

I’ve tried a lot of social media blockers and this would have to be the only one that’s worked. My screen time went down 30% in the first week and I love that I have to be active to be rewarded. Whoever developed this app is a genius

I hope I’m changing!!

Steps > likes!!! I’m headed out for my daily walk to encourage my 5k steps before looking at my socials! I even took a walk before thanksgiving dinner so I could scroll a little. I’m excited for future enhancements to this app. I’d love to be able to assign different step goals for different days of the week!

It’s great when it works

But lately it’s not been blocking any apps automatically. The point is so I don’t doom scroll in bed; then I wake up and none of the apps are blocked unless I open this app first, which an addicted brain probably won’t do 🥲 kind of annoyed I’m PAYING for it when it doesn’t usually work.

Response from developer

FAQ

What does Social Limits do?

Social Limits is a digital detox application designed to help users break screen time addiction, particularly with social media. It blocks selected apps until a user achieves a predetermined daily step count, encouraging physical activity and healthier morning routines.

How does the step goal challenge work?

You can set a daily step count target within the app. Once you reach this target, the apps you've chosen to block will become accessible. This feature incentivizes movement and discourages immediate scrolling upon waking.

Is Social Limits free to use?

The app offers a free version with core functionalities, but it also has paid features available through in-app purchases. These paid features likely unlock advanced customization or additional benefits beyond the basic blocking and step goal system.

What are the benefits of using this app?

Using Social Limits can lead to improved sleep quality by reducing late-night scrolling, increased productivity by starting the day with intention, and enhanced focus by minimizing digital overwhelm. It also aims to reduce anxiety and build stronger, more consistent morning habits.

Who is this app designed for?

This app is ideal for individuals who struggle with excessive social media use, especially in the morning, and want to establish healthier digital habits. It's for those looking to integrate physical activity into their daily routine as a way to manage screen time and improve overall well-being.
