Custom Plans Made Easy!
I love the Sola app for allowing me to create a custom plan to keep me on track in completing a read-through of the whole Bible. I have tried before with the year-long versions on the Bible app but typically can’t handle reading so many chapters in one night. I decided 3 years was a feasible timeline for me to read the Bible while taking time to dive deeper on topics that confused me or were intriguing. I also wanted to a straight read-through of the chapters on at a time in as-seen-in-the-Bible order so I could differentiate them from one another - Sola allows that! The Sola app allowed me to create this 3 year plan, using word count average as the driver for weekly schedule reading planning rather than chapter count to maintain consistency in reading amount per night. Checking off chapters throughout the week is exciting and has actually encouraged me to be 2 weeks ahead at the time of this review. I have thoroughly enjoyed the maps included in the app and links to BibleProject videos for more info on what I’m reading. These have helped me a lot in my understanding of the context in which the stories take place. The only critique I have is that, while I can share my custom plans with others, unlike the Bible app, I cannot see the progress of others on my plan. I would love to see this feature added so my brother and I can encourage one another if either of us start to get behind. A comment feature on a shared plan might also be interesting to share thoughts on what was read that week/day. I would recommend this app to anyone wanting to create their own custom plans or dive deeper into the Bible. It has a very functional and good looking UI and feels good to use.

I want to share with friends
This app is fantastic and has a great, simple interface. But when I shared my reading plan with my friends, I realized it doesn’t allow you to see your friends’ progress. A social component would make this app perfect.

Thanks for the review and feedback. Shared progress is definitely on the roadmap. However, it is a significant undertaking so may not arrive for a little while yet.

I’m speechless from the practicality, design, interface, integration with other apps… y’all MUST promote this on social media (& I’d totally share it). More ppl need to know about this! Golden idea + carry through and glory to God!!!

Sam, the developer of Sola Bible reading plans app not only has created a great app for Bible reading plans, he also shows that he takes great care for it as well by responding quickly and professionally to any issues with the app that’s reported to him.
I reported a bug to him and he updated the app to address it in three days! It’s very rare that an app developer is responsive like that to any issues one has with their app product.
I highly recommend his Bible reading plan app for anyone looking for a good, intuitive, and simple to use Bible reading app. Consider supporting him as well as this app is hands down the best Bible reading plan app that’s out there!
