Custom Plans Made Easy!
I love the Sola app for allowing me to create a custom plan to keep me on track in completing a read-through of the whole Bible. I have tried before with the year-long versions on the Bible app but typically can’t handle reading so many chapters in one night. I decided 3 years was a feasible timeline for me to read the Bible while taking time to dive deeper on topics that confused me or were intriguing. I also wanted to a straight read-through of the chapters on at a time in as-seen-in-the-Bible order so I could differentiate them from one another - Sola allows that! The Sola app allowed me to create this 3 year plan, using word count average as the driver for weekly schedule reading planning rather than chapter count to maintain consistency in reading amount per night. Checking off chapters throughout the week is exciting and has actually encouraged me to be 2 weeks ahead at the time of this review. I have thoroughly enjoyed the maps included in the app and links to BibleProject videos for more info on what I’m reading. These have helped me a lot in my understanding of the context in which the stories take place. The only critique I have is that, while I can share my custom plans with others, unlike the Bible app, I cannot see the progress of others on my plan. I would love to see this feature added so my brother and I can encourage one another if either of us start to get behind. A comment feature on a shared plan might also be interesting to share thoughts on what was read that week/day. I would recommend this app to anyone wanting to create their own custom plans or dive deeper into the Bible. It has a very functional and good looking UI and feels good to use.

I want to share with friends
This app is fantastic and has a great, simple interface. But when I shared my reading plan with my friends, I realized it doesn’t allow you to see your friends’ progress. A social component would make this app perfect.

Thanks for the review and feedback. Shared progress is definitely on the roadmap. However, it is a significant undertaking so may not arrive for a little while yet.

Sam, the developer of Sola Bible reading plans app not only has created a great app for Bible reading plans, he also shows that he takes great care for it as well by responding quickly and professionally to any issues with the app that’s reported to him.
I reported a bug to him and he updated the app to address it in three days! It’s very rare that an app developer is responsive like that to any issues one has with their app product.
I highly recommend his Bible reading plan app for anyone looking for a good, intuitive, and simple to use Bible reading app. Consider supporting him as well as this app is hands down the best Bible reading plan app that’s out there!

Does exactly what it says. Only thing I wish it had was notifications to remind me. Not a big deal though.

This app is an incredible tool. If I may suggest something, is there a way I can print out the entire plan that the app generates? I can only view ahead on a weekly bases but not day by day. Id like to be able to view ahead on the plan day by day

Glad you are enjoying Sola! Currently there is no feature to print out reading plans, but I’ve always planned to introduce this at some point. I will work on this feature for an upcoming update.

Beautiful design!
I am so happy I found this app. It is just what I was looking for. I am wanting to track my reading of the Bible and I wanted to share the plan with others. If this app also added a group function to see if others in your plan are on track, then this would be top notch. I am just dreaming. :)

The incredible design and feeling of this app is outstanding. You have different options for choosing a reading plan or you can create a new custom plan. The controls feel very natural and intuitive. The Bible text can be read from popular apps like youversion.

Just what I hoped for!
Sleek, simple design, customizable reading plans, multiple Bible/translation options, and maps, timelines, and Bible Project summary videos connected to each reading section. Absolutely perfect for what I was looking for.
What a great means of grace!
As a Christian and a pastor, I’m always looking for ways to strengthen my relationship with God through his written word. Reading through the whole Bible is a great way to fellowship with the Creator, learn his ways and grow in obedience. I’ve used different plans over the years to do so. I stopped using a plan some years ago because I couldn’t find one that had the flexibility and portability that I wanted. Now I have!
The team at Sola has designed a great app that allows one to customize the content (various combinations of OT, NT, Wisdom, etc.), length (up to 24 months) and frequency (daily or weekly) of the reading plan. They have also included really creative and helpful resources to supplement the reading – and an automatic “catch up” option.
The only area for improvement I see at this point is a way to sync between tablet and cellphone.

Wonderful app
The thing I like the most about this app is that you can create your own custom reading plan, by selecting the portion of Scripture you want to read, length of time to read it and which days of the week you want to read. There are nice maps with the locations that are in each book. You can click on a location name and it shows you where it is on the map. There are also Bible project videos in the app. When I first downloaded the app, there was a glitch. I contacted the developer and he fixed it within several days, even sending me an email to let me know it was fixed. This app is simple and easy to use.
The only suggestion I would make, is that when you are making a custom plan, it would be easier if the days you want to read is included in one of the steps as you are building your reading plan. It is not, but instead it is under the settings section. Once you know it’s in a different spot, it’s not a big deal, but it would be more intuitive to have that as part of the steps in building your plan. Besides that, I love everything about this app and it’s a great tool!

Just amazing!
I don’t know how new this app is but I can’t believe it doesn’t have thousands of 5 star reviews!! It was exactly what I was looking for in my Bible study. Now I can see what kings were reigning subsequent to other regions kings, what places Scripture is talking about, and even do a chronological plan!! Love it love it love it!
