Great but not great

But this thing just does not keep track of your distance. I have measured multiple times on a Level court, and it still says the wrong distance, disappointed, but great for young learners

Not worth it

It’s a good idea to have a ball that tracks your shots but Spalding did it wrong, especially making it $250!!! It dribbles weird and kind of makes me shoot weird (to be fair I use it ouside but it still feels weird). Anyway, the app is the real thing I’m reviewing, and it is a whole other issue, it is an ok app and all but it is not worth $100 a year or whatever, unless you play tons of basketball, which I do and still think it’s not worth it. Don’t get me wrong the app itself is pretty good but it would be way cooler if there was an option to kind of 1v1 someone and see who can make more shots in a certain amount of time.

You can challenge other users and compare scores in our Shootout mode, which you can find in the app under Social → Shootouts.

Add feature

After a workout, please add a feature called shot map. It shows every shot you took, and where you took it from. If you click on a shot, it shows your release time, arc, and spin rate.

Needs to work with Apple Watch

My son likes it a lot. It would be nice if there was a way to sync with an apple watch app. It could show stats without walking to the main device. I’d bet there is a way the watch could also enhance the accuracy of the distance estimates, which are off from time to time (e.g. pointer reads as a 15 footer).

Spalding TF DNA

Haven’t used much but so far I’ve loved it due to its ability to track shooting percentage and give solid feedback on what to improve. The feedback given to me surpasses any kind of assumption of what’s wrong with my shot.

Quality Ball & Feedback

The ball feels great and the feedback is fun if you like stats. I am
curious on the arc feedback but the ball is spot on for distance, makes, misses and spin.

Great app… expansion?

Would love to see where this app goes next.
Anything for a righty who is practicing lefty? I imagine that’s not a difficult addition.

What about dribbling?

Passing precision? You’re almost there anyway with the shooting algorithm.

What about in-competition? App-switching profiles based on who has the ball in a one v. one game (the second you add a team effort it gets really difficult).

Happy to show your devs how to do some of this if needed.

Storage in Nintendo shot day with this app and I made all of them. It helps so much because it tells me how much I made how much I missed and it helps with my basketball. I was pretty good at basketball now Best on my team thanks to this app.

My dad took it around shooting and now I can’t delete his sessions and some shots are counted wrong. Otherwise amazing!

Thanks for the feedback. You can use Casual mode and your stats won’t be saved. That makes it easy to let someone else try the app without affecting your stats. Also, please ensure the net is not too loose. The ball should make contact with the net when going in. We recommend using a standard net or tightening the existing net if needed. Appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and glad you’re enjoying the app.

Ridiculous cost

How can they expect a family to pay over $600 per year for this? Why don't they offer family memberships like nearly every other sports and athletic app?? Avoid them until they fix it unless you only want one player to use it. We're returning ours.

37% of my shots are not being counted.

Most of my makes are being counted as misses because I’m shooting in the Splash Zone. In other words if you have a swish within a swish the app can’t tell if it’s a make or an airball. The solution to this problem would be making a splash Zone feature that counts perfect swishes like dead center since the hoop is so large.

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback. On perfect swishes, shots may be counted as misses if the net is too loose and the ball does not touch it. We recommend using a standard net or tightening the net so it makes clear contact with the ball. A simple solution is to use a zip tie to connect a few of the net’s loops together.
