Didn’t find rooms in the area I was interested in. Other apps allow all communication for free while this app needs payment to contact with some landlords.
Dissatisfied
I put on this site for about two years but in that time, I can honestly say that, even though I have a two-story home a spa a pool, very nice landscaping in the backyard and access to all community property. Everything in the kitchen so forth I’ve never received one message from anybody from this website. I am within their price range and I am located in the area that they say they’re searching, but no matter how many messages I sent out nobody response so I’m not sure if you guys aren’t showing my ad unless I pay for an upgrade but this website produces no roommates. I use craigslist and I get phone calls and messages at least once a week so something’s definitely wrong with spare room.

Can’t log in app
Can’t log in the app but I can log in through the website. I change my password and nothing I deleted the app and reinstalled and nothing. Is there a problem with the app?

Sketchy Accounts
There are too many unverified accounts with no picture.
It’s hard to determine whether or not the accounts are legit or just phishers trying to get info.
Without fail, every time I’ve asked someone to post a photo and verify their account, they say it’s “[not a problem]” and then never send another message.
The whole thing is sketchy.
Just use roomies.com instead; they do better at shutting down / preventing fake accounts.

Scam Alert
Useless app. Full of scammers and dead listings. I’ve seen the same rooms posted for years with no replies to messages. Some listings clearly target young women only, which feels creepy and unsafe. After multiple attempts, I never found a real or responsive option. Do not recommend.

Not Trustworthy
This app has been an absolute nightmare. I’ve made multiple accounts—each time paying to post ads to find roommates for my place—and every single time, I either got logged out or my account was deleted for no reason. My profile was verified, my ads followed all the rules, and everything seemed fine… until the app just kicked me out with no explanation.
After three or four times of this happening, I tried again, made yet another account, paid again for two more ads—and not even 10 minutes later, I was kicked out again. I can’t log back in, I’ve received no help, and I’ve now wasted money on at least 4 to 6 ads that I can’t even access.
This feels like a scam. It’s ridiculous that users can pay for a service and then get locked out without warning or support. I’m beyond frustrated, and unless this is fixed and I’m refunded or given real access, I absolutely would not recommend this app to anyone.

This App will help take away the stress!
I found a roommate in no time and I didn’t even spend a dime. I had someone move out last minute and needed a better replacement and boy did we find one. Found a suitable roommate in 4-days and I’m so happy with her. Had lots of options to choose from. Was a breeze. Thank God and thank you very much for the help SpareRoom👌🏾

Waste of time
Since creating a free account, I haven’t received a single message. Potentially interested people aren’t able to reply to your ad until a whole week later. Also, if you try to put your contact number in your ad, they’ll moderate and remove it immediately lol stick to Craigslist folks!

Why would you charge people to look for a room to rent? I can say there are a good amount of people who are just looking for a room cause life can put you in a tight space when you’re figuring things out. I’ve been able to send one message but if a listing is less than 7days old I have to upgrade to get in contact with someone so I can have a roof over my head? That’s pointless for anyone trying to find a long term/temporary solution to their living situation. These people are putting their coin in front of their users’ convenience.

When I go to search for rooms and apartments and select location on the next page I see something went wrong
