Won’t open?

I was super excited for this app and had heard great reviews about it from a Facebook group I follow for sped teachers. However, when I try to open the app the screen goes white and blank. I deleted and redownload to try and resolve the issue but to no avail.

Grammatical Errors

It is very hard to take an App seriously when 4 of the first 5 goals that I read had grammatical errors. I will be immediately deleting the App.

I created this on a teacher's budget and I had to outsource the coding and things got lost in translation. Also, I did this all on my own and I am far from perfect. If you would like to help please email me at spedgoals2@gmail.

App not working.

Downloaded the app but when I open it, it just shows blank whites screen with no information.

1st year SPED Teacher Must Have!!

As a first year Early Education Teacher, I am so excited to have this app! It directs my goals specifically and efficiently and lets me adjust them as needed. So easy to use and offers great ideas and insights!

Great tool

Sometimes the IEP process can be daunting when it comes to writing goals. This app is a great way to break that writers block and write a goal that is concrete and workable for the student to achieve.

Best app for goal writing

This is an all around 21st century app for goal writing. So easy and I love how SMART the goals are. So many ideas for all levels at your fingertips. I hope you come up with more apps for SPED. Thank you so much 😊

Terrible Goals

One glance at this app and it’s full of goals that are written subjectively and will lead to poor service provision. I know guidelines are looser at other schools and guidelines different in other states but these kind of goals wouldn’t fly where I work. I suggest the app creator look into S.M.A.R.T. goals.

Hi, these goals are meant to be a starting point and the teachers have to modify the goal to meet the student's need. You mention S.M.A.R.T goals, almost all are SMART. A teacher does have to modify what a student can attained. Finally, you sound bitter, but know that thousands of teachers have benefitted from the App.

Good Starting Point

This app is a great starting point for teachers who are writing IEP goals and get “stuck” or for parents who aren’t sure what to ask for/suggest for their child’s IEP. The app is very easy to navigate and breaks down content areas clearly. The design is aesthetically pleasing and not visually overwhelming. I appreciate how easy it is to identify goal “starters” for each grade (currently pre-k through 6th) and subject area. I do not recommend “cutting and pasting” these goals, however, as there are grammatical and punctuation errors in many goals and not all goals are written in ABCD format. Also, at this time, all goals utilize some form of “within one year” as the timeline. I do not believe this is a good way to indicate the time frame. “By the end of the IEP cycle” or “by the end of the school year” is preferable and more specific in my opinion. Overall, this app is a good creativity booster for special education staff and a good resource for parents, as long as they do not insist on wording their child’s IEP exactly as written in the app.

Solid review and you nailed some of the issues I am tackling. The one issue I do have with your review is that you only gave it 3 out of 5 stars. That’s 60%, F in the grade book. This app at a minimum is a solid B, 4/5 stars, and as I have stated in the description, “this is a work in progress.” The app is far from perfect, but just like a fine wine, this app will age beautifully. Again, thank you for your review.

Wonderful IEP tool!

This app is a wonderful tool for getting started with IEP goals. I was stuck on what to do for one of my inclusion 4th graders. I opened the app, went to 4th grade reading comprehension and immediately had topics to help me get started. I had my goals written in no time! Very excited to see more things added to this app in the future.

Great Resource

This is a great resource to look over for ideas on goal writing! As a newer special education teacher, I still struggle with writing goals that are viewed as good. Thank you for making this process easier!

Great Idea

This is amazing! Thank you for all of your hard work! I can't wait for the upper Elementary grades to be added! I love the feature where we can send goals to the creator to possibly add to the goal banks!

Very Limited

Wanted to love this, but it only goes to 3rd grade. Disappointing, could have been a wonderful resource.

Wow, quick and easy!

This makes goal writing so much easier. You chose the grade level, the categories. Then bam, it’s all there for you. This could even be used by gen ed teacher to target those areas of need. Good job!!

This is an excellent app written by Gustavo Ortega to help all teachers and parents establish goals in varied subjects, including social skills for their child or student, not just special ed children.

5 star app!

This app. made it so easy for me to write a goal for my kinders and 1st graders. Sometimes, while writing an IEP you just get stuck on coming up with a good goal. This app is amazing. I love the option of being able to add a goal. Can't wait to check back and see other teachers input! 5 stars for sure! Great job!
