SHARE YOUR OUTING LIVE Send a link, or show a QR code, and someone you choose follows you on a 3D map - with your speed, altitude, distance and, if you wish, the colour of your heart-rate zone. It is optional and off by default: nothing leaves your phone until you tap Start sharing, and a red Stop button stays one tap away on the iPhone and on the watch. Everything is encrypted on your device before it is sent, and only the link you share can open it - not even the developer can read it. The Apple Watch sends its own points when it records. Sharing ends with your outing: the final track stays visible for 2 hours, and a link never lives more than 24 hours. Heart rate is a separate switch, off by default. A NEW LOOK, MAP FIRST Designed for iOS 26: the dashboard now sits on the map, the controls float in glass, and the header gathers GPS, sharing, settings and help in one compact dock. The activity chip keeps just its icon, in the colour of the mode. COMPARE TWO OUTINGS Out and back, or two attempts at the same route: the app reads the direction of travel and times the stretch the two outings share. NAMED AUTOMATICALLY Every outing is named as you record it: A -> B for a one-way trip, the summit you reached for a loop. LIFT AND ROLLER-COASTER RIDES (EXPERIMENTAL) Turn on Experimental modes in Settings. Elevator counts the floors, Roller coaster finds the peak g-force, the airtime and the biggest drop, tied to the curves. On the Apple Watch Ultra, the Action button starts and stops a ride. ALSO Waypoints now travel with your iCloud backup. Widgets and the Live Activity follow the language you chose in the app. A watchdog notices when the GPS goes silent, so the speed no longer freezes. Recordings shorter than 15 seconds are no longer saved. The help is rewritten - 28 articles - and a short tour shows what is new the first time you open this version. Requires iOS 26 and watchOS 26.
