About

How fast are you going? Open the app and the answer is already there — a big glowing readout of your current speed, straight from GPS satellites, inside a dial that fills as you accelerate. Speedometer GPS turns your phone into a precise digital speedometer for anything that moves: cars, motorbikes, bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, boats, trains, runs — especially the things that never came with a speedometer of their own. A READOUT YOU CAN TRUST A fresh GPS fix every second, smoothed over the last five readings, so the number reads steady instead of twitching — and big enough to read from the passenger seat. The dial auto-ranges: a fine 0–60 scale on a bike, 0–120 or 0–240 on the highway. SPEED LIMIT ALARM Set a limit in Settings. Pass it and the readout turns red, a marker shows on the dial and the phone buzzes — again every ten seconds until you slow down. Presets for city, road and highway limits in km/h, mph or knots. IT TELLS YOU WHEN TO TRUST IT The pill under the number shows live GPS quality — EXCELLENT, GOOD, FAIR or POOR — with the accuracy radius in metres. Fixes worse than ±20 m are shown but never used. Lose the signal in a tunnel and the readout drops to 0 and says SEARCHING instead of freezing on a stale number. COMPASS AND ALTITUDE Your heading (N, NE, E… plus degrees) and altitude sit right under the readout — handy on the water, on a trail, or on an unfamiliar road. HUD MODE A mirrored, full-screen readout on pure black. Lay the phone flat on the dashboard at night and read your speed reflected in the windshield. Flip it back to normal to hold it up. The screen stays awake until you tap Exit HUD. A REAL TRIP COMPUTER Distance, max speed, average speed while moving, and elapsed time — each in its own card. Live speed shows the moment you open the app; trip stats count from the moment you press Start. Stop, Reset or Save whenever you like. TRIP HISTORY, ODOMETER AND ROUTES Save up to 50 trips with their stats and the GPS points you recorded. The Trips screen keeps a lifetime odometer — total distance, top speed and time across every trip — and draws a thumbnail of each route. Open a trip to see the route full size — on Apple Maps on iPhone — and share its stats with one tap. KM/H, MPH OR KNOTS Metric shows metres then kilometres; imperial shows feet then miles; knots show nautical miles for sailing and boating. Your choice is saved for next time. NO PHANTOM DISTANCE Tiny movements from GPS drift are ignored, so a parked phone doesn't rack up kilometres. Impossible jumps between fixes are thrown out, and max speed is taken from the smoothed value — one glitchy sample can't fake a top speed. WORKS OFFLINE, STAYS PRIVATE Speed comes from GPS satellites, not the network, so the app works in airplane mode, abroad without data, at sea and in the backcountry. No account, no sign-up — your readings and saved trips stay on your phone. Speedometer GPS is free and ad-supported. The speedometer, speed alarm, HUD mode and trip history are all fully available — nothing is locked. Privacy policy: https://speed.chinesepowered.com/privacy.html
