No sound!

The sound worked for exactly three minutes. How on earth can they spell the word if they can’t hear it?!

Doesn’t work

There is no way to adjust the volume within the app and even with the volume on my phone turned ALL of he way up, we could not hear the words. It’s a waste of time and money.

Almost perfect

Love this app but really don’t understand why there isn’t a way to clear stars on mastered lists so kids can have additional practice

You can do this. Go to edit the list and then you can reset the list (which will clear the stars).

Bonne app mais ne fonctionne plu.

App géniale mais pour une raison que j’ignore, l’importation des listes de mot a cessé de fonctionner.
J’ai tout tenté : redémarrer mon appareil, réinstaller l’app, installer le dernier iOS , rien n’y fait.
J’ai écris pour avoir du support, je n’ai aucune nouvelles depuis... 😕

There are NO instructions on how to use the app!

But they did answer my email asking for help and I have figured out how to use it now.

Still they need better instructions.

Spelling Words

This app has been life changing in our household. My children practice their spelling words INDEPENDENTLY throughout the week with the Spelling Star app. They now come home after the test with a 100% each and every week. Spelling word practice is completely stress free in our home with this app. That was NOT the case when we, as parents, practiced with our children throughout the week (before learning about this app).

No keyboard support

We purchased a hand writing recognition keyboard just for this app however this app does not allow you to use anything but the standard keyboard on the iPad. No idea why they would do that. It is way too hard for a kid to hunt and peck for the letters. Please enable the use of non-standard keyboards like mazec.

Works as described

Very basic app. It works as described. I did have an issue with it not working at first, but we closed out the app and when my son turned it back on, it worked and you could hear the sound.

Do not buy!

You can not record/listen to words you select. Therefore the app is useless. Waste of money!

Doesn’t work on Xr

Love this app, my kids always get perfect scores when we use their spelling lists. I got an iPhone XR and now it gives me a microphone error and shuts down the app when I try to record. Please fix, we need it!

doesn’t work, wasted my time

I am a teacher for special ed students and thought this app would help them practice spelling. Wasted 2 dollars because app kept shutting down and would not record the words.

App Not Working as described

The app doesn’t record the sound , which fails the whole purpose of purchasing it. Clicking “contact us” takes to a web page which is no longer available. I want a refund.

Keeps closing out randomly

I really love this app so I paid for it but it keeps closing out on its own and that’s frustrating because my kids keep having to start over. Fix it and I’d give five stars

Great app!

I can already tell this will be a helpful part of his study. My 6th grader usually doesn't have a problem with subjects in school. But spelling is difficult. In just two days of study with the app, he can spell all the words on the list. In fact, yesterday afternoon I asked him to go over the words once and he said that he went through the list until he had 3 stars on each! I like that I can record a sentence to go with each word, or even a definition. And the ability to import a list makes it easy to switch between devices for review. Thank you!!

Faulty app, often says words are misspelled.

I have carefully input more than a few spelling lists, and a handful of words always come up that they are spelled wrong, when they are spelled correctly. You can catch a sneak peek of the word and see how it’s spelled, enter it, and be told it’s wrong. Kind of pointless and frustrating for my second grade twins.

As a teacher I've found this to be a perfect app for my students to practice their weekly spelling lists.

My kids love this app.

I was introduced to this app by an educator. I have a son in 2nd grade and he has a spelling list every week. I entered in his list and he loved using this app to practice his spelling list. Well thought out and fun to use. Highly Recommend this app for parents and teachers!

Great we can add our own words...

Looking for an app to practice kids spelling words on the go. It does just that and only that. The hint feature shows the word, which is not a hint, it's simply the answer. Would like to be able to shut off "hint" feature.

The hint is designed for frustration-free practice. As you noted, this is a practice app, not a testing app, so we want students to be able to hear and see the word as much as possible. Turning off the "hint" feature would lead to frustration during the mastery practice cycle. Thanks for the review!
