What's New in Spinstack Vinyl Collection

1.5

September 14, 2026

Spinstack 1.5 knows the condition of every record you own. RECORD CONDITION. The Condition tab is now a standard part of the app: Groove Vision, Scratch Detection, collection health, and a worth-checking-first queue. The new Condition Card is a shareable image with every detected scratch drawn where it sits in the grooves. The Condition Receipt is free for everyone, and exporting a Collection Appraisal became a moment: the report drops onto the desk in 3D, your total counts up, and it saves as a PDF. Plus a Generic sleeve grade for the plain sleeves most 45s come in. Price Watchdog and the Collection Appraisal now value each graded record at its own condition, and the headline, the PDF and the Condition tab agree to the dollar. Groove Vision shows its estimate with its confidence and marks the quadrant that set it; you decide the grade. ON YOUR DEVICE. Ask Your Collection answers questions from your actual records, in the app or from Siri, and shows what it checked under every answer. Point the camera at a sleeve and Spinstack tells you whether you already own it. Sonic Fingerprint measures a playing record's tempo, key and loudness. Every AI feature runs on your iPhone; nothing leaves it. AI Liner Notes is on by default where Apple Intelligence is available; if you had switched it off, your choice stands. AT THE RECORD STORE. Scan a partner store's counter card and Spinstack's App Clip identifies any pressing in the bins: no install, no account, with the store's own picks on a shelf. Your finds wait on Home after you install. And when a scan matches your wishlist, the sleeve rises out of a crate in 3D with the date you started wanting it. Already have the app? The store welcomes you by name before Vinyl Vision opens, with its staff picks a tap away. FROM WISHLIST TO SHELF. Add a record you had wishlisted and the wishlist entry clears itself, Done lands you back in one motion, and the new cover appears on your shelves immediately. TAP THE SLEEVE. An NFC sticker now opens the Tap Card: pressing, grades, value, play history and the scratch map for that exact copy, instantly and offline. ON YOUR WRIST. The watch app is redesigned around the listening session, wrist spins now count toward stylus wear, and a Never Spun complication surfaces the records you keep skipping. ON APPLE TV. Game Night is a pass-the-remote quiz built from your records. Now Spinning keeps a record company on the big screen, its disc turning at a real 33 1/3 rpm. Your replaced covers, Spin Reports and Crews come along, and Today's Pick sits on the Top Shelf. EVERYWHERE. Spin Reports rebuilt around your artwork. Today's Pick fills Discover on iPad. Your records in Spotlight, Siri opens a record by name, a Control Center scan control, and widgets that know when to appear. The Guide: 169 features, searchable. Sixteen languages, down to every permission prompt and Siri phrase. Export your whole spin history as CSV or JSON, with Discogs release IDs so any app can match your records.

This app grew!!!

I had the opportunity to be a tester for this app from the beginning. I’ve watched it grow from the beginning. I love the b-side the most! It’s like a hang out with your friends and their records. I also love the look of the app in general. Visually amazing, is an understatement. The interface is hands down the best!

Response from developer

Thank you, and thank you for testing from the very first builds. A lot of what is in the app today got there because people like you pushed on it early, so this one means a lot. "A hang out with your friends and their records" is exactly what The B-Side was meant to feel like, and it is good to hear it lands that way. Your crew just got a This Week recap and a Stamp Book in 1.4.6, so there is more to hang out around now. If anything ever feels off, the feedback button in Settings comes straight to me.

Just Fantastic

Listening to records is my favorite pastime. This app has only improved this important part of my day for me. It allows me to engage with my collection in new ways dig into crevices I forgot I had. The fact that it is a one time purchase is so refreshing and developer seems great. Get this if you love vinyl!

Update: the new large update only makes it better. Fantastic developers!

Response from developer

This made my week, thank you. “Dig into crevices I forgot I had” is exactly the feeling I built Spinstack for. The rediscovery moment, that’s the whole point. Glad the analytics and What to Spin are doing what they were supposed to do. Also, thank you for circling back to update after 1.4. That kind of follow-through is rare and it doesn’t go unnoticed. More coming. Spinstack stays one-time, forever. That’s a promise. 🎶

The Best There Is

An amazing app that keeps getting better. A feature rich vinyl collection management app with many unique aspects. Logging spins, scrobbling to Last.fm, writing and reading NFC tags for your collection, and Discogs Marketplace management are just a few of features that set this app apart from the others. The developer is incredibly responsive and has a true desire to create an app that is useful to the vinyl community, Discogs users, and Last.fm vinyl scrobblers. If you have a vinyl collection, this app is for you.

Response from developer

This means a lot. Thank you for taking the time to write this. The features you mentioned are exactly the areas where we spend the most time. Spin logging, Last.fm scrobbling, NFC tags, Discogs Marketplace. These are the things vinyl collectors actually use every day, and getting them right matters more than adding flashy features nobody asked for. We read every piece of feedback that comes in. Most of what ships in each update comes directly from conversations with collectors like you. The roadmap is built by the people who use the app, not by us guessing in a vacuum. More is coming. We are not close to done.

Amazing and only getting better

Been using app for my collection and it’s been amazing . From the interface to the insane insights section. The price watchdog is set up nicely for great details on my collection. Lots of great things done in a short amount of time. Can’t wait to see what’s coming next !

Response from developer

This means a lot. The insights section and Price Watchdog were built specifically for collectors who want real data about what they own, not just a list of titles. Knowing that someone is actually using those tools the way they were designed makes the work worth it. More is coming. The roadmap is full and the updates will keep shipping. Thank you for being an early user.

Very great UI for tracking

Love the layout of this app and how similar to Apple UI it is. I like it much better than the iOS Discogs application. I would love to see more seamless design choices like when you click into collection, the A-Z scroller doesn’t work and the boxes are slightly clunky, but otherwise great amazing for logging and viewing. Also priced very fairly. The other competitor application is wildly more money than this, and this arguably has more features aside from the seller dashboard. Great app, hope to see it continue to get updated!

Response from developer

Thank you for the five stars and the thoughtful note. You caught something we were already tracking down. The A-Z alphabet scroller is fixed in the next update. Tap a letter to jump, or press and slide your finger up and down the strip to scrub through your whole collection with a gentle haptic on every letter boundary. iOS 26 had quietly changed something underneath it, which is why it had stopped responding. On the boxes feeling slightly clunky: we recently smoothed out a few things in Collection and Wishlist. Faster scrolling on large libraries. A status line at the bottom that names exactly what you're looking at. Pull to refresh that brings back the whole library instead of dropping you to the first page. Let us know what else feels off. Thanks for spinning with us. There's more coming, including a full-screen record-spinning companion we've been calling Ambient Mode. Version 1.3 should come out early May. The Spinstack Team
