About

Loop a riff, slow it down and play it back up to full speed. Spole is the practice player for musicians who learn by ear: slow down music without changing the pitch, loop the bar you are stuck on, change the key, jam along with backing tracks and stems, transcribe a solo or a whole song, keep time with a metronome, tune to the record and keep a practice log. Drop in a song you own, a lesson voice memo or a video. Spole plays it slower, in the same key, as often as you need. SLOW DOWN MUSIC, KEEP THE PITCH - Tempo from 25 % to 130 % with the pitch kept, in 1 % steps TRANSCRIBE A SOLO, A SONG, THE CHORDS - Transcribe a solo note for note: loop the run and slow it to half speed, still in tune - Transcribe a song bar by bar, then check it at full speed - Transcribe the chords: loop one bar and let it ring at 50 % - Transcribe the bassline and the groove: slow it until every note and ghost note is clear LOOP A RIFF, A BAR OR A SOLO - Set A and B on the waveform, or tap A and B by ear while it plays - Gapless loops with no click at the join - Save loops with their own speed and pitch: the intro, the solo, the turnaround CLIMB BACK TO FULL SPEED - Loop the bar a few times, then Spole raises the tempo a step - Choose the loops per step and the step size, from your speed up to 100 % - The way teachers say to practice: slow and clean first, then faster CHANGE THE KEY, TRANSPOSE AND FINE TUNE - Pitch shifter: move a song up or down 12 semitones, the tempo stays where it is - Fine tune ±50 cents for old records that sit off A 440 JAM TRACKS WITH STEMS - 14 backing tracks in funk, rock and prog, each with a key and a tempo - Drums, bass and other on their own pads: mute your part and play it yourself - Solo the bass line to learn it, keep the drums and lose the rest - A mixer with a level for every part, in portrait and in landscape METRONOME - 30 to 300 bpm with tap tempo - 2 to 7 beats per bar, accents on any beat: on one, on 2 and 4, wherever the groove sits - Quiet clicks between the beats: eighths, triplets or sixteenths TUNER - A chromatic tuner for guitar, bass, strings, horns and voice - Tune to A 440 or to the track's own A - A reference tone, and one tap to match a recording to A 440 RECORD YOUR TAKE - Count in, record, loop it - Your take slows down and loops like any recording PRACTICE LOG - A practice log, day by day: what you worked on and what clicked - Add notes, photos, videos and voice memos to every practice - Each entry keeps the recording, the loop and the speed it came from ANY RECORDING - Audio files you own: MP3, M4A, WAV, AIFF and FLAC from Files - Voice memos and lesson recordings through the share sheet - Videos from Photos or Files: the picture follows the loop, so dance steps and lesson videos stay in sync BUILT FOR THE MUSIC STAND - Big numbers you can read from an arm's length, thumb-sized controls - Turn the phone sideways for a wider waveform with the pads beside it - Play and pause from the Lock Screen, keeps playing with the screen off FOR EVERY INSTRUMENT Guitar, bass, piano and keys, drums, saxophone and horns, violin and strings, singers, dancers learning choreography and anyone learning a song by ear. Use it for ear training, practicing scales with a metronome, or rehearsing with a band that waits for you. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account.
