Not real time
I find it inaccurate in real time. I paid for the landing pattern and most of its wind direction is inaccurate in real time. Looking at the wind socks at my DZ the wind is from NNE yet in the app it indicates SE. Waste of money.
fantastic
this to me is by far the best forecast app, i jump in different dz in a few countries, and it works every time every where. Aand, if you have questions they help you solve them, just hit them an email, congratulations and thank you.
App broken
Not sure what happened but the app used to be great. Now they have changed background colors and lettering to white on top of each other so you can barely read anything in the weather section.
Also the patter direction stopped working…so you can’t pick a left or right landing direction.
Another issue is that the app will not keep your home DZ….randomly the app will think it is somewhere else and when you switch between winds aloft and forecast, I have had it literally switch DZs.
I paid for the full version to include everything as well and now they are adding things that need to be paid for…not right to do to existing customers that already purchased the full version.

Spot Assist, Cutaway Finder function
The cutaway finder worked perfectly in helping locating my parachute. Simple as entering the cutaway location, altitude and date time. It shows the path based on the winds at that time. My parachute was within a couple hundred feet with the last arrow.

Маст хэв. Купил давно. Все выполнено отлично, особо радуют ветра по высотам, для вингов так вообще не заменимо, отцепки искать тоже удобно. Если на каких -то спотах погрешности, так это из-за недостаточно метеоданных на конкретном месте, тут приложение не причем.

There was something weird going on with the app. Restarted it and it works as advertised now.
If you’re a skydiver you should have this
Buy all the features, they’re worth it. It just helps to visualize everything you’re gonna be using while jumping. Lots of great add ons you don’t get unless you purchase. Blue skies y’all!
Great tool
Like any “application “, take the info with a grain of salt and a generous dose of common sense. I’m still in training, but one of my mentors turned me on to this and I find myself checking it all the time. I’ve worked outdoors all my life and this gives a greater picture of weather and conditions than normal radar. The daily info I received from this program combined with my lifetime knowledge gives me a much better understanding of weather patterns in our area and makes this a very valuable tool.

a) the best exit spot
b) the best landing pattern for an accurate on point landing either at the dropzone or at any chosen place (for demo jumps).
I use it for my own jumps as well as for the briefing of students.
The developer is constantly working on improvements and you get support if needed.
Use the free trial of all functions and you'll be convinced to pay the small amount for the functions you need.
Also great for dropzones, to show real time conditions to their jumpers!

I’ve used spot assist for 3 yrs now had no problem. After the recent update 4 days ago the app no longer turns on or works. Has anyone else had this same issue?

This is exactly what I needed. Flying a powdered paraglider I like to know surface level wind speed and winds aloft. This app is simple to look at and understand. Knowing the cloud deck height with forested models is great too if you want to fly above them. The graph is very simplistic which is a good thing. Only the necessary data is shown so there’s no clutter. I wouldn’t change anything about this. You don’t even have to choose a location. You just move the part of the map into view and the data is automatically pulled for that area.
I searched a long time looking at weather, wind and aviation apps and none of them provided a simple all in one solution for the data this app provides.
