Waste of money

Doesn’t do everything I need. I bought a stage plot program online for the same price that does so much more. Tip: Don’t have the gray background on your plots, you can distinguish anything on the plot if it’s printed!

Just an ad

Not free, must purchase… just an ad for their app. Shady tactic means shady people means shady app. No thanks. UPDATE: the developer contacted me and felt that me being honest about how they misrepresent the product as free and then bait and switch you into buying it was a personal attack. Their rude response definitely cements my comments as factual about how they do business. Stay away and go with a reputable company with good support instead of this sloppy app. There are much better options to be had, which is the route we took. Thank heavens we did, from their response to an honest review we can see we made the right choice to avoid this developer, their tactics, their poor attitude, and their lack of professional customer service. To the developer: telling the truth is not a “personal attack” or a “false claim”, if you feel the truth is these things then you are shady, as I originally stated… and you just confirmed it. Good luck with your business, try to improve and maybe the truth won’t hurt so badly.

Response from developer

The app is not free — and we don’t claim that it is. It includes a free trial mode with limited functionality and a clearly displayed upgrade path--which is a small one time purchase. The app is not an ad. It’s a tool used by thousands of working professionals. We welcome criticism, but personal attacks and false claims don’t reflect the product — or the team building it.

More free features

I really like the app I won’t lie. It has really cool features but I just wished it had just a little bit more free features so I can test it out a bit more. I ended up paying and really like it but I’m writing for those who probably would still want to try out other options. Really good app though, just needs improvements for the last two stars :)

Stage Layout and printing difficult to work with

Can’t adjust background to fit the stage and printing cuts off the plot, equipment list, etc making it incomplete. Had to do a screen grab to get whole stage printed….Big problems!!! Awful interface…

Response from developer

Hello- We apologize. There was indeed a printing bug that affected some earlier versions. This has been fixed. If you're still seeing issues, update to the lates version, and you will have no issues. Thanks again for supporting us. We are always working on trying to get it right.

would give it 0 if i could

can only use instruments! cant even put a stage!!

Won’t even open

Downloaded this to test and trial 16 sept 2025. I see a splash screen and it immediately closes/crashes. Unusable at least for me.

Bad!!! I want my money back!

Not good at all!!!

Aggravating To Edit

The 3d perspectives on the icons (such as keyboards on stands, speaker cabinets, drums, amps, mic stands, etc) make it hard to simply place items side by side or at clean angles on the plot. Rotating, positioning, and sizing to plot scale is frustrating on an iPad with limited workspace and arthritic fingers. I bought the "full feature" version and have gone back to Sharpie on paper because the app is slow to use and has too many insufficiencies to make it practical in a realtime festival setting.

Not user friendly

The free version is unusable. It won’t allow you to build a stage plot past one instrument. You will be “invited” with the option to their subscription as soon as you select a second instrument. Move on…

Too Much Withheld

I saw the many bad reviews, but still wanted to give it a try for myself - to give it the benefit of the doubt. I couldn’t even make an educated guess on how well or poorly the app works because if I tried to even delete an errant addition, I got slapped in the face with a paywall.

This app is a bad gamble for the consumer, even at only $7-8 (no reliable info on the actual cost) for the “Pro” version. There’re many elements in the UI and general marketing that SCREAM “This is sketchy.” (Only two Instagram posts since Christmas 2021, only one of which had anything to do with the app?!) This could be the best app ever, and I still wouldn’t pay for the full version because of all of this and more. You’re better served using Pages or even MSPaint for your stage plots.

Response from developer

Mathias — You’re correct that the demo stage includes limited functionality, including restrictions on deleting items. That’s intentional and clearly stated. This is a professional tool, not a free app with ads or hidden subscriptions. The Pro version is a one-time purchase, transparently priced with no recurring fees. It unlocks the full toolset — built specifically for live event design — used by touring artists, engineers, and production teams worldwide. Since the version you tried, we’ve made substantial improvements across the board. The app continues to evolve based on real-world feedback, and that refinement is ongoing. If you decide to give it another shot, we’d welcome it. Please feel free to reach out to us directly as well. Thanks We’ve made major improvements since this particular version as well and continue to refine every part of the experience based on real-world use. If the goal is a serious tool for live production, that’s exactly what this delivers. Hopefully you will reconsider and give us another shot. Let me know if you want the same structure for other reviews during your cleanup.

StagePlot Guru

Hours of work with too little reward… so far the worst I’ve ever used. Not for the real professional world.

Unable to try it

Unable to see if this is any good as everything is locked to paid app so not even able to work out what it is capable of!

Bugs

When im sending or printing right side getting cut in previews its fine looks great
The quality of print or sending Someone really poor

Add please

Hello! Add please icon conductor!

Needs some fixes, but really a great concept for engineers

Wish they had some more bug fixes for basic copying and saving

Not useful

Don’t bother. First of all, I had to buy pro version to get more than 4 props. This is an app designer’s idea of what a plot should look like. Neither the plot not the pin list are particularly readable. Yes all the info is in there but it just looks like romper room. Missing all kinds of stuff like low profile wedges, any rf, and pedalboards. I would never in a million years hand this to a stage manager or audio vendor.

Response from developer

The free version includes a limited set of props to explore basic functionality. Upgrading unlocks over 250+ industry-standard elements used by working professionals — including RF gear, pedalboards, and multiple wedge types. While we understand this may not have matched your expectations, the platform is in active use by stage managers, engineers, and touring artists daily — and it continues to evolve based on their real-world input, to which we are always open for. We continue to make improvements since the review of this version. Hopefully you'll give us another shot.

Still has same issues

I’ve been reading all the reviews for this app, and no wonder it has a low rating. They still have the same issues as 6 years ago per their reviews.
1. Still lots of pop-ups that you need to buy the subscription for anything you want to do.
2. Most equipments are locked.
3. No search button to look for a specific item.
4. Cannot rotate the items.
5. I’m not sure if they have lecterns?
6. Unable to edit/delete items without paying for the subscription.
7. No zoom in/out.
8. I’m trying to built a theater stage, I don’t think this is the app to use for that.

Awful

Haven’t really felt the need to write a review for an app until today. Can’t do anything without paying the $4.99. No obvious delete button after you drop an image in. They grab you with the free version, but limit the what you can actually do without paying creating an essentially a useless app.

Response from developer

The free version is limited, yes — but you can place props, move them, and delete them without upgrading. That’s always been true. The app clearly states what’s unlocked with Pro before you buy. It’s a one-time payment. No subscriptions. No surprises. If the version you used made anything unclear, we’ve improved the UI since then — and we’ll keep improving based on actual use. But calling the app “awful” for having a paid tier isn’t an honest reflection of what it does. Hopefully you'll give us another shot. Feel free to reach out to us directly as well.
