My intention is always to be transparent; I do include a note in the App Store description stating that a subscription is required to use the app, though I know it is located towards the end of the text and can easily be missed before hitting download. I completely understand why a free limited version or a one-time purchase would be preferred. However, as an independent developer, opting for a subscription model is what allows me to cover ongoing maintenance and server costs, continuously improve the app, and keep the experience completely ad-free and privacy-focused without relying on data-tracking ads. I respect that this pricing structure might not suit everyone's preferences right now. However, as an independent developer, opting for a direct subscription model is what allows me to keep this digital memory-keeping experience completely ad-free, private, and secure, without having to hide basic features behind a pay-per-item system. I do mention that a subscription is required in the App Store description, though I understand that since it is located towards the end, it can be easy to miss before downloading. To clarify, the app operates on a premium-only model, which is why the subscription screen cannot be bypassed or dismissed, an active subscription is required to open and use its features. I do note this requirement within the App Store description page, though I know it is located towards the end and can be easy to miss before hitting download.
