Obviously free is nice, but then ads are required, or worst schemes to find revenue to support ongoing updates. These days, that requires intrusive videos, level blocks and similar. As a company, we’ve decided not to do any of that and instead focus on gameplay that benefits customers and not advertisers. Unfortunately that means we need payment in some other way. We’ve tried to price it fairly, and also provide both subscription and outright purchase plays options as some people prefer one over the other (though traditionally subscriptions will earn more for the developer). Thanks for giving the game a try. I’m glad you enjoyed it. If you prefer ad-based schemes, fortunately we have a couple of great competitors who cater to that. Happy puzzling!
