Entitled to Themselves Not Players
Much has been made about new leadership associated with the game the last few months. However continued experience shows the staff and management culture is fully rotted beyond the ability of any new leadership to change no matter how good they might be. The teams have no understanding that their players are their customers. Customers is a word that Scopely/Digit should seriously consider engraining in their culture. Instead the staff view themselves as entitled to their players time and money, not matter how poorly they treat said customers. I expect they will continue to have net player (customer) losses as that entitlement culture is just too heavily embedded. 6+ year player, Ops 75. Invested significant time and money into the game. I am now gone. No worries, they won’t care that I left much like they didn’t care for those thousands who (smartly) left before me.

Many of the missions and events require to purchase to place at the top. On many servers those who spend the big bucks create the rules of engagement that highly favor them. Can be fun but not for the free to play players.
Bugs and glitches daily
No help from lost devs/support. Total joke dev/ programmer have no clue.

Been playing the game since its launch over 7 years ago. It was playable for a few years and now the amount of bugs and glitches I have on a daily basis is astounding and all I get from customer service is an “oh well”. No apology, no way to reimburse me for the lost time, Resources, or the inability to do the new stuff at an OPS level of 65. They say it works as intended? Guess they wanted a broken game. They don’t keep their promises. They always break them. They said last year they were going to release G6 Freebooters, still hasn’t came out yet and still no update on when. They claim they are trying to fix the game, but this has been told to me for the last 4 years playing this game. I’m tired of it not working as intended. I’ve put more time and effort into this game than I have most and it’s beyond disappointing the state of the game right now. It’s beyond broken. No dailies, no events, I can’t mine, I can’t kill any hostiles, I can’t refine anything, I can’t get anything out of the factions tore and yet all customer service says is “oh well”. Yeah, great flippin game my a**.

Been playing 5 years reached lv70. Scopely make the game a little worse every month. Horrendous coding and server lag. Endless bugs. They have made the game more and more expensive to play. Essentially you cannot progress in STFC unless you spend $300 per month. Beware.

This is pay to play and pay to win game. Almost every button push asks for more money. I tried to play for 5 minutes and was asked for over $100… in under 5 minutes.
Need to work on game bugs
I’ve been playing this game for a long time and they never seem to fix bugs in game. They keep saying they are working on it but all I see are the same bugs over and over again. Only thing new is ships to make them money
Best game ever
LOVE THIS GAME! Very easy game to play. Just avoid all glitches after every update & maintenance. To play you just Clear cache and reset all day. Nothing to it. Been clearing cache and resetting all day. Who knew it could be this much fun. Everyone should play this game.
Gone downhill at warp speed
I have been playing this game from close to the beginning. It’s been fun because of the many interesting people I have interacted with. But the fun is being rapidly drained. I work irregular shifts. It’s very frustrating with the many maintenance downtimes and updates that ALWAYS create problems. Stop trying to add more pay options and focus on making the game stable and playable first! I once got the monthly Battlepass regularly. Since you shifted to multiple passes, at least twice a month, and become totally unreliable……I am among the grognards considering just deleting this game entirely!

This is one of the best games I have played I started with STO on ps for years then I found this and it was just as brilliant as well somethings are hard because I am trying just play it with what you get tough challenge but getting there fast now a fleet has took me in awsome game
Garbage money grb
This game is pure garbage it has more glitches then events and grinds and it has ton of those. The coding is a joke and help dept offers generic assignments to problems the closes tickets without resolving the problem. Don’t waist you time and definitely don’t waist your money
Falling apart at the seams
Having played from about a week or two after its launch in 2018 across 4 different servers (not counting server mergers) I can say that what WAS a fairly slick and entertaining way to pass time at game launch has become a wobbly bloated mess.
It now has so many side loops and additions it looks and feels like an edited scene from the scrapped comedy horror Toy Story meets the Star Trek cutting room floor.
Over the past few years the driving force, after the armadas finally arrived, has been new ships, crew and materials for players to collect and develop but primarily to milk the cash at the expense of both game stability and content.
Especially as they often nerf an existing crew member with total disregard to the fact that a player may have spent time and materials developing them. But hey here’s their shiny new crew members are they are “better”, well yes it does do the same but we’ve created a new hostile just for it, isn’t it nice?
New game additions constantly generate faults within the game code, then there is the persistent LAG as the game buffers regularly for some unknown reason.
That same reason is obviously also a mystery to Scopely too as they’re constantly looking into it, but very very slowly unless horror of horrors it benefits players or interferes with buying in which case you get express service to put a plaster on it asap.
Players of all levels regularly quit in frustration at both gameplay and other players conduct.
There have even been requests for existing players to try and lure old players back.
personally and remembering the previous servers I’ve played on one can’t help but feel the game is showing signs of being on its last legs.
One other thing, you’re often asked at login how you rate the game 5* or 1-4* but nothing in between, as the mildly intelligent will know this is statistically useless unless you’re giving “interpretation on feedback collected” to your boss, in which case you can say we’re getting mainly 4&5* reviews!
In short it’s your time and possibly money, but I’m very sceptical of any current high scoring reviews being from genuine players of STFC.

It feels like a pyramid scheme. Don’t fall for it.
Price difficulties
This is an incredible fun game, but some of the prices are very expensive for someone with a limited budget. I seen prices at $100 for an item but then when I bought one of them, it was $154. They’re not accurate and this cause a serious hole in my wallet.

APAC chat bug on known issue list since 2nd April. Last update was 8th April saying issues are still being looked into. Writing this review on 20th August.
Have asked for an update a dozen times since then with no response.
The Bug means you can’t text chat with alliance members via in game text chat. This affects multiple servers in the apac region. Over half the time I try to chat it doesn’t work. Sometimes you restart the game and clear cache 10 times and still can’t chat. Trying to coordinate events and formation armadas is impossible if you can’t chat and armadas aren’t showing up in chat when someone starts one.
