Help!!!!
Hi Dean,
Stardate crashes immediately every time I try to open it on my iPhone — instant crash, no error message, can’t get past launch. I’ve tried:
• Rebooting the phone
• Deleting the app fully and reinstalling
• (repeating both of the above multiple times)
Nothing has resolved it. Device is an iPhone 15/16 series running the latest iOS.
I’d love to keep using the app (I was using it for voice notes via the Watch complication), but I can’t get it open at all right now. Happy to provide more details — device logs, crash reports, timing of when it started, etc. — if that’s helpful for debugging.

Crashing
I had it on my watch face but it’s really easy to accidentally start, which I did. It ran for hours. You can’t choose to not save a note once it’s started. Now when I go into the app on my phone, it tries to transcribe that file - won’t let me stop it - and crashes every time. Even deleting and reinstalling didn’t fix the problem. Now I can’t use it.

Great for capturing ideas on the go.
I found Stardate incredibly easy to use, with accurate transcription that turns my spoken words into clean, well-formatted text. The grammar handling is solid too.
I’ve been using it to write a fiction book, and it has worked wonderfully. Suggestions
Love this App so far! I know it’s in early development that’s why I give 5 stars! I just have some suggestions. Is it possible to include the option to delete the voicenote but keep the transcript (storage reasons) and also I unfortunately don’t see an indication on my apple watch when I talk, maybe that can be added. After these it would be the perfect app!

It just WORKS!
I desperately needed an app for quick “mind dump” notes that (1) transcribed them (2) had a watch complication, and (3) actually, consistently WORKS. I’ve tried more of them than I’d care to admit, but an aggravating majority of them failed #3 - and what good is an important thought that you fleetingly remember if it disappears into the ether? Stardate is simple, meets all of my requirements, and (also critically important), it’s the one that “stuck.” I deleted the rest. GREAT WORK!

Straightforward, effective and just works. The transcription is very good quality and editing is simple/quick. Please, Dean, don’t make it complicated.
Simple Voice Notes That Changed My Day
Stardate is brilliantly simple - "it does one freaking thing and it does it so darn well." As an active skier who needs to capture ideas on the go, this app has been transformative. One tap on my watch and I'm instantly recording thoughts without interrupting my flow.
The automatic saving and transcription is seamless, letting me capture stream-of-consciousness ideas that would otherwise be lost. I recorded about 40 minutes of notes during a day of skiing and was amazed at how much valuable content I captured.
The UI could use minor tweaks (better recording indicators), and voice activation would make it perfect for gloved activities, but these are small improvements to an already fantastic app. If you need to capture thoughts during active moments, this is absolutely the app you've been looking for!

Doesn’t Work
Tried it repeatedly. Every attempt produces an empty note. Transcribed nothing. Useless

Hi, sorry to hear you're having trouble! Were you able to get the model to load completely? The red bar at the top of the screen has to fill up before transcriptions can start. My go-to for notes
This is the way to capture the quick “ahas” that make a difference in my projects. I often dictate longer pieces which I can easily copy for another purpose. “Tap, Talk Done” really says it all.
So convenient!
