Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Stardate at 4.5 against Print(Notes)'s 4.0. Stardate also leads on ratings volume (24 vs 4). Print(Notes)'s advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 79%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Stardate holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stardate has 24 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of Stardate's written reviews are positive against 100% of Print(Notes)'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Stardate ships an update every 3 weeks, Print(Notes) monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
