Great app

Thanks

Glitchi 😔😔😔

The app detects food incorrectly

Good and simple app

App is good for simple goal tracking. Other apps get very complicated with tracking calories, details of meals etc. Only con about this is app is you cannot set goals for future dates - only same day or past. Would love to see an update where we can set future goals, even at a week or month at a time.

My Plate

Useless

All it does it allow you to set goals/notifications to eat the food groups during a meal. All of the info on planning, the food groups, etc is available on the website. There is no need to download this app. It is entirely possible to set up the exact same goals/notifications in other organizational apps.

No control

Doesn’t allow you to customize anything. We used the original app to help a teen make sure they hit enough calories for a GI disorder that causes malabsorption. This new app chooses food categories for you and won’t let you track what you eat like it previously did

Track MyPlate

I used SuperTracker years ago and was excited to pick it back up. Unfortunately this app only gives you weird goals and no actual consumption tracking. I would love to see an app that just does simple food group tracking again particularly for people who aren’t trying to look at calories and just trying to have a balanced day

Waste of time

Took soooo much time creating logins and verifying that it isn’t even worth it.

Not really useful

Wish it would let you put in goals of the quantity you are supposed to meet—not the RANDOM goals of “start your day with fruit” and “gave fruit with dinner “—how does that help any thing? I thought this app would help me track how much of each type of food. Disappointed

Impossible

Could it be any more difficult to log? Authenticate what code? Where? Why should I delete my account?

I only want to track and improve my nutrition to improve my health.

I don't need launch codes for nuclear armaments.

DON’T DOWNLOAD THE APP

This absolutely sucked. It didn’t save my plan, and it also wouldn’t let me sign in. Every time i would go to look for the number that it sent me, it wouldn’t let me do it. It just closed my progress. I do not recommend.

Not Great for Tracking

The strongest feature this app has is providing ideas for how to get more of each category (veggies, fruit, etc.) and suggesting how much of a thing constitutes a portion; but it doesn't allow you to log how many portions you consume.

It's really just a suggestions type of app, not a tracking app.

Making an account is atrocious!

Too difficult, needing to go through the DoA’s website with the pressure of having a government account. If this was a resource they wanted you to use they wouldn’t make it so impossible to even try out.

I love it

100%

Easy To Use

It's a motivating and fun app to use for food group tracking. Better than My Fitness Pal and totally free with badges and goals!

Pedantic

Needs KETO,PALEO,PRIMAL,CARNIVORE, and eating styles beyond the rigid USDA

MyPlate Simple

Hard to create an account

Is It Any Good?

This MyPlate app needs lots of work! Other wellness apps like MyFitnessPal offer much more specificity on curating meal plans, calorie tracking, and activity levels.

So why use the MyPlate app? It's number 1 benefit for nutrition practitioners is the ability to quickly provide daily food group recommendations for all ages at any time.

Consider the parents who aren't sure how much food to give their 1 year old, the patient you just saw who can't name 5 different fruits or veggies, even consider yourself - do you know your own food group recommendations?

Consider downloading the app and leaving a comment on their app page, we as RD's must play a role in the advocacy of our health technology that our tax dollars fund

Zero stars for an extra confusing useless app

I’m scratching my head trying to figure out the point of this app. Literally only want to track daily calories but there doesn’t seem to be a free app for that

Inconvenient

Setting up the account was super annoying. Why bother with the app if it keeps redirecting me to the website? And why doesn’t the daily calorie meal plan from the website appear in the app? The app doesn’t take any of that into consideration. It’s kind of pointless.
