I’ve tried all of these, this is the best
Poor support from Dev - issues with app
Hoping to switch to 5 stars soon
Such a easy and useful app!
I will give this a 5 star if…
A charming and surprisingly capable app
2. It’s cute but not TOO cute, i. e. the cozy style stands out without getting in the way of the functionality, and
3. This app really is very functional! I’ve tested other solutions for storing screenshots, links, and what-not, but kept falling back to my clunky old notes system. This app’s smooth onboarding and folder-access directly from the sharing menu might actually keep me hooked on using it.
The only complaint I could mention is the settings-page’s list of milestones to use/promote Stash Anything. Since my use-case doesn’t involve jumping through all the hoops listed, that checklist will not be completed, which I presume means it will never go away. An incomplete list is irritating and, rather than making me want to do it, just makes me want to avoid the settings page. If this nag factor could be removed or toned down, Stash Anything could become one of my favourite apps.
Pretty great…until you’re trying to sync.
I love this
I’m a fan
If I had to pick something I do not like about it - I don’t love the “Jump Back In” section at the top. It’s a little distracting to me, but that is purely personal. I’m sure it would be useful for others.
Useful
1 star until fixed
Confusing OCR Feature Set
Stash.app is a fine idea, but is incomplete or inconsistent with its feature set.
First, text search within screenshots is locked behind the in-App purchase. It is not fully clear in the appstore description or website.
Second, the text within screenshots is not accessible. It is not user selectable nor can the text be exported via Share sheet.
However, buried in settings is the ability to export a markdown file for a full “stash”.
Settings> Backup & Export: Export Data.md
This should become a marquee feature!
Stash.app is almost there, but it currently limits itself without easy export of extracted text.
Just what I have been looking for
This App is my new favorite thing
And this app is the PERFECT way for me to have a hub where I can keep posts/videos on the same topic from different apps!! And it doesn’t require me to do a bunch of extra steps or make a spreadsheet ect.
Sync and Performance Need to be Fixed
While the latest update has improved performance and it no longer no longer lags while navigating in the UI, the syncing is still terrible. I have raised my rating to 3 stars but need the syncing to work to be a five star app.
Original review:
While I love how this app works (it’s honestly the bookmarking app I’ve been looking for). The syncing is currently completely broken and overall performance has taken a hit in the most recent updates. The sync is so bad it’s unusable for me. Should these get fixed it’s easily a 5 star application, until then I can’t use it.
Useful
Amazing on iOS, MacOS not so much
On MacOS, things are much worse. Sub-stashes (nested folders) have something like ten+ duplicate visual entries. Back and forward buttons do not work on the mouse. Unstashed stashes (uncategorised entries) also have around ten duplicate entries. Sometimes, selecting one entry using the edit menu selects all of them. The interface feels more like a stretched iOS app than a dedicated desktop app (horizontal padding is poorly implemented). Moving the cursor over the top actionable section of the window produces a bizarre purple divider line. If you hide the sidebar, the button to show it again disappears entirely, so you can never open it again.
I hesitated about making this review, because I want the app to do well. But I also think that anyone buying this thinking that they’ll have a great experience between devices will be thoroughly disappointed. Fingers crossed the desktop app improves quickly!
