Not the best app out there

This app started out great, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that the developers are prioritizing printing functionality over actually developing the app into the powerful design tool it has the potential to be.
The extra steps that have been added just to save an image are completely unnecessary, especially when you’ve made it significantly easier to print directly from the app. It feels like basic functionality is being made more complicated while printing continues to receive update after update.
Honestly, how many people are actually using this app primarily to print? I would much rather see that development time go toward updated fonts, better design tools, a more intuitive user interface, and more advanced features—especially features that competing computer-based software already offers.
The app has so much potential, but it feels like the focus is in the wrong place. Instead of continuing to optimize printing, I’d love to see the developers focus on what this software could actually become if they prioritized the design experience and brought the app closer to its full potential.

I love it with one request

I really wish it would add an option for overlap stitches when exporting a pdf and the grid is broken up into multiple pages. I also wish it would save to the cloud so I could access patterns across devices. Otherwise it’s a nearly perfect app.

Best cross stitching app out there

AHHHHHHH, it’s genuinely so good

Folders

Good product for creating files but would love to see the ability to create folders. I don’t like having to scroll through so many of my patterns to find the one I need. It would be super helpful for me to have folders I can create by category

Needs some work..

I want to be able to track my progress but you can only do that by using the draw tool to mark off the stitches you've done. I'd love it more if you could just tap on the stitches and it would grey them out or something instead of having to draw a line.
I’m currently using printed patterns right now and drawing lines is how I currently keep track, so this app isn't an upgrade from that unfortunately.

I’m referring to a pdf pattern i've uploaded by the way, in case that for some reason makes any difference.

Love it!

I love this app it’s super useful and very versatile. I love that it has support for different devices. Being able to use it both on my laptop and phone is so handy! I just wish there was an option to select colours on a colour wheel. I find myself spending a lot of time trying to find the perfect colour. When importing an image into a pattern it preselects a thread colour to match. So, being able to have something similar with a colour selector would be fantastic! Also, adding a confirm paste option would be great. Right now every time I go to move part of my pattern, I have to undo it multiple times to get the placement perfect. Apart from this the app is amazing :)

love the app! Suggestions with pixel photos and tag system

I love the app. It’s amazing for making new designs and following designs I already made.

My issue is that photos that are already in pixel format are hard to line up and copy correctly. I have a bunch of pixel art I would love to turn into designs but it’s hard to do it with your automated pattern creator and I just end up doing it all by hand anyway. Which is annoying and time consuming when the pieces are big. I don’t know if there is a way to line up photo grid with your system that I am missing…

Also have you thought about making your tagging system when you can add bins or folders or drop down menus? My tags can get pretty long when I’m doing subsets of subsets. Ex piece has a turkey in it, so I tag it at: object - animal- bird - turkey. I don’t know if that’s just me and my love of categories though.

Fantastic App

This has been such an integral part of my cross stitch hobby. Being able to add patterns and import photos to be patterns has allowed me to expand the designs I want to create. I love the ability to keep track of what stitches you’ve completed as well as see what percentage you have finished on the project. My only wish is that you could either add pattern notes or be able to duplicate a colour for when you are doing multiple stitches (half stitch and full stitch) from the same colour. Highly highly recommend!

Game Changer!!!

I absolutely LOVE this app. For decades I’ve struggled to create my own patterns. I get frustrated with the same old cutesy/cheesy patterns that I would never hang on my wall. So far I’ve been able create patterns with my favorite photos of pets and family members, and I can create new patterns when traveling without having to pack up WIPs. Yes, there are some flaws- I wish there were more sort options, and that we could save to an account rather than a backup file, but I believe those things will come in time. Even with the downsides this app deserves 5+ stars. Overall this app has given me a renewed love and passion for the craft and if I were to lose it I would cry.

👍

This app is great and has really allowed me to do much more ambitious and creative projects. It’s really easy to use and the photo converter tools are really helpful

Still loving the app but have a request

This app makes cross stitching a dream but could use more options on Aida colors and/or linens. How about a customizable adaptable option where i can approximate the color of my background using a floss color, or being able to mottle 2 colors. I use almost exclusively hand dyed aida. Also, now that patterns are being sold as pdf downloads can you makt it possible to upload them to this app?

Only one issue

The app works good. I just wish that you were able to download to Windows based devices. I would pay extra for that option.

Unable to access on multiple devices

I was unaware when I downloaded the app that if I downloaded it through my App Store and purchased the premium version on my iPhone that I didn’t have some sort of an account with the Stitchly company and couldn’t access my designs on other devices. So when I tried to sign in on my Samsung tablet, I was informed that I couldn’t access the premium version I purchased on my iPhone through my tablet, nor could I access my designs. In order to use the premium version on my tablet, I would have to re-purchase the premium version on my tablet.

The redundancy is ridiculous. I love the app, but I’m disappointed in its limited availability through other devices.

Don’t buy this for painting patterns unless you’re willing to gamble on quality.

Look, I understand they need to make money, but this is ridiculous. The only thing you can actually do in this app on the free version is convert photos to cross stitch…which can be done for free without the annoying pop up every five seconds online. To be fair it does this fine, which is why I gave it two stars, but I will not pay the app developers to be able to paint with their app. The painting feature’s paintbrush is locked behind a paywall, meaning you cannot determine if the painting even works correctly without being forced to pay 40$ for the privilege of testing. Aka, you cannot use the app for the feature most of us are probably downloading the app for unless you’re willing to gamble on it being a good app.

Also, the pop up. Christ. 100,000 lines of code and you can’t code a painting app to not kick you out half the time when you accidentally trigger the popup?

Génial !

Je suis totalement fan ! Dans les prochaines mise à jour ça sera bien d’obtenir la possibilité de faire les mélanges de couleurs ! Ça serait vraiment parfait !

Best Cross Stitch App

I love this app. My favorite feature by far is when you can select the colors you don’t want. But before you do, you can see where that particular color is on the chart which helps determine if you can get away with not having that color or not. I already have a program on the computer which I have had for years and done loads of charts/cross stitch on there. I have to say this app surpasses that easily! The fact that you can upgrade to the paid version for one price and not have a subscription is the best!

Fantastic

I don’t often review apps but this one is fantastic. I’ve used it to convert photos as well as draw simple patterns. It’s intuitive to use and very well thought out.

Das beste für anfänger

Ich kann nur sagen das die app klasse funktioniert für stickereien

Really good app, not perfect

I’m really enjoying this app, but there are a few improvements I would make if possible. One simple one would be to “highlight” everything of a single color when I choose that color, especially when importing a photo. It would make it far easier to determine if a color should be eliminated. Occasionally there are only a few stitches in that color but they are really important to the stitch out (highlights in eyes comes to mind).

I have an apple device just for this app

As the title says! I’ve made the switch to android, but you best believe I’ve bought a cheap iPad mini just to have this app.

I’ve tested all the cross stitch apps on google and Samsung, and can confirm this app is the only one I will EVER use.
