About

Most "Stoic" apps hand you a quote and walk away. Stoic Practice gives you the practice the Stoics actually kept: a short ritual at the start and end of each day. In the morning you read a passage, set one intention, name the hard thing that may come, and sort what is yours to control from what is not. At night you sit with Seneca's three questions: what did I do badly, what did I do well, what could I do better. The evening brings your morning intention back, so the day closes the loop it opened. The whole app changes with the hour it is opened. Cool first light in the morning, lamplight and indigo at night. It is a small thing, and it makes the ritual feel like the time of day it belongs to. FREE, FOREVER - A new passage every morning and night, drawn from the Stoics - The full morning preparation and evening review - A gentle streak that forgives a missed day - Two optional daily reminders - A Home and Lock Screen widget with the reading for the hour THE FULL PRACTICE (one-time unlock) - The full source texts to read: the complete Meditations and Enchiridion, plus a Seneca anthology, all searchable - Practice tools: Dichotomy of Control, View From Above, and Memento Mori - Themed tracks for grief, anger, discipline, and mortality - Your full journal, searchable and exportable WHY ONE PURCHASE, NOT A SUBSCRIPTION The value here is the practice and your own reflections, not an endless feed you have to keep paying for. So it is a single purchase, yours forever, on every device. Charging a monthly fee for Stoicism felt like missing the point. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No login. No tracking. Everything you write stays on your device. Every quoted text is from a public-domain translation.

The complete Meditations, and a streak that keeps its promise. BOOK XII The last book of the Meditations was missing from the Library. It is there now, all twenty seven sections, ending where Marcus ends: three acts are the whole play, and you may go your way well pleased. A GENTLER STREAK The streak now really does forgive a missed day, the way it was always described. Miss one and your run carries on. Miss two and you begin again. MORE TO READ The daily readings used to come round again after little more than a week. The pool is over five times larger now, drawn from the Casaubon Meditations already in your Library, so a passage will not repeat for well over a month. The sequence no longer jumps on New Year's Day either. EVERY PASSAGE CHECKED Every quotation in the app was checked against its source. A few were loose, one was not Marcus at all, and one came from a translation still in copyright. They have been corrected or replaced, each now cited to the book and section it came from. THE SMALL HOURS Closing the day after midnight now belongs to the day you have just finished, instead of quietly using up the next one. ALSO The purchase and restore buttons say what went wrong instead of doing nothing. Memento Mori takes any birth year rather than offering four. Milestones stop congratulating you twice. Reminder times read as 9 PM rather than 21:00.
