You’d think I sit at home all day…

I have my location on always and I barely have any squares unlocked. You’d think I was a hermit.

Latest Update glitchy

I can’t click on anything since the latest update. No menus or buttons are pressable

Response from developer

So sorry to hear this! Can you please reach us at help@stomped.app to allow us to look into this for you? We’d love to help solve the mystery!

lowkey my new hobby

the way this app has motivated me to get out and explore my city every day is crazy. i feel like i unlocked a part of my brain i didn’t know about, but now i can’t stop until ive gotten every tile 😭 luckily i love trespassing

Love it

I have been wanting something like this for a long time. Glad a friend introduced it to me! Only thing is sometimes the tracking is a little off and I miss a bunch of tiles. Wish I had had this on my whole life!

Love the idea

I really like this app and love looking at the map. The problem is that it takes up like 30% of my battery each day and doesn’t even get all the tiles I “stomped” unless I have the app open and even then it sometimes doesn’t get them all

There’s Potential

I really like this app, or at least the premise of the app. It’s actually pretty simple to navigate, but my biggest grievance is sometimes the track in background works, and sometimes it doesn’t. It is especially frustrating when I spent a significant amount of time wandering around only to realize nothing tracked. Alternatively, there’s achievements to be unlocked, but we have no way of knowing what they are… you simply get an achievement if you get one, but if not… you have no idea what you’re trying to work towards. It would be nice to be able to expand the leaderboard function beyond our most stomped city — say the other cities and neighbourhoods that we’ve been to. As some cities or neighbourhoods, I’d argue I’d be one of the top stompers but since they’re not comparable in size to my most stomped city (New York), I’d never know.

Overall, the app has a lot of potential. But I’d definitely would like to see the bug fixed for the background tracking because God forbid I have to hold my phone with the app open the entire time to track. It kind of defeats the entire point of going out into the wild and stomping if you have to constantly monitor an app.

Needs some improvement

1) The hexes are just a bit too small, sometimes impossible to get a city block because location is never perfectly accurate 2) it’s annoyed that it takes up the full bar at the top with the blue arrow - other apps that use your location don’t do this. Sometimes it even does this after I quit the app

concept is cool

it doesn’t unlock all of the tiles i pass over. there’s big sections of my map that are just missing a ton of tiles even though in those area my service and connection is great. is always freezing up on me.

I meet who create this app

The nicest and sweetest guy ever. I ask him if he can share he’s hotspot with me and he said yes. And we stared talking about this app is amazing let’s all walk together.

awesome concept for travelers

I travel a LOT by vehicle for work and this app seemed like a super cool way to see that visually! Noticed it drains a lot of battery for a background app, like way more than leaving your bluetooth on would, and it struggles to location track long distances or higher speeds (like at or above ~35mph?) but these are all problems that time and updates can solve :)

Thanks for bringing this feedback to our attention! So sorry to hear it had some difficulty in the car for you. We're working to address this now and we'll be sure to update the functionality shortly.

Just downloaded

and I’m already obsessed

miss the colorful neighborhood borders

I miss the neighborhood borders/colors and being able to see my progress highlighted and color coded even when I zoom out super far on the map since I’m traveling all over. This app is great because I’ve gotten to see the different neighborhoods and borders of communities that I’m commuting between! The new updates are great.

Response from developer

Hey! You may need to disable viewing friend tiles in order to see the neighborhood colors again. So happy to hear you're loving Stomped!

love this app

a lot of fun

Great Game

Really cool concept for a game! My only wish was to share my map with friends and it seems like it just released in the update. Can’t wait to see what else releases.

love the concept! looking forward to updates

this is a really fun concept, i’m glad i found it so soon after launch. however, it’s been tracking all movement including car/train travel even though the app says it only tracks foot travel. would be nice to have automatic speed detection instead of having to turn my location on and off anytime i get in a vehicle. overall excited to see where it goes!

Hey! We're working on this functionality right now, and we'll be sure to release an update for it soon. Thanks a bunch for sending this feedback our way!

Conceptually great

This seems like a really cool idea but the always tracking feature makes my phone lag out so bad that I had to delete the app. Has good potential

Response from developer

Sorry to hear you had issues with the Always feature. We actually released an update today to help address this, and always appreciate feedback like this as we fine tune the app!

Great app, hoping for more stats in the future

I love this app so far and I’m using it to keep track of where I’ve been in NYC. The thing that would really make me stick with the app though would be more stats- it’s cool being able to see how many tiles you have so far in a neighborhood but additional stats like number of tiles per day (both new and total), number of visits per neighborhood, and the ability to see a “replay” of your tiles stomped over a day/week/etc would be awesome. And the ability to see the dates of all visits to a tile, not just the first! I love data and features like this would make the app worth continuing to use even when going somewhere I’ve been before.
Oh, and more colors please? There are neighborhoods right next to each other marked in the same color

Love the UI

The app is good. But if I turn on always allow location, the location mark is always showing on my Island on top. Also it drains battery very fast.

great potential

love the app, just needs to
improve background tracking (doesn’t always track unless i’ve opened the app recently) and maybe the friends layout

Response from developer

So glad to hear you're having fun with Stomped! Keep the app updated, as we've got a redesign to the friends layout and some background tracking improvements coming shortly!

Tracks while in a car/subway

Getting too many tiles without actually walking them. WalkNYC is better, tracks by block and doesn’t track when you’re on the train.

Response from developer

Sorry to hear you've had difficulty with tracking. Keep your app updated in the coming days, as we've heard your feedback and we're allowing users to disable tracking while in the car, biking, or on the train. Have fun, and thanks for Stomping!
