So sad

I downloaded in advance and checked that it functioned properly and it did. Arrived at Stonehenge (NOW) and the app ran on a loop of checking for updates and never loaded. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times with no change in status. Super disappointed since I’m actually here.

Excellent!

A fantastic audio guide with interactive map and it’s free!

Japanese doesn’t get downloaded

I am a private tour organiser for living and sending so many clients (in that language) to Stonehenge asking them to download this app before they go. Now one of them pointed out that the Japanese version never completed downloading. We pay the quite pricey tickets same as other other countries but don’t get navigated information. It would be appreciated if you get it sorted as early possible.

Endless loop

The app does literally nothing but check for updates. I have tried reloading several times, but as is it is completely worthless.

Works Fine - Download Via Wi-Fi

Download the app AND the content via Wi-Fi, in advance if you plan ahead. Worked fine for both my wife and I in the cold and rain at Stonehenge in Nov 2022. Numbers at the sites correspond to the app content sections. Interesting commentary paced to an average walk along with extra content if you want to pause and hear more.

Sehr gut!

Bei einer Besichtigung auf jeden Fall lohnenswert! Mehre Sprachen inclusive „deutsch“ möglich!

Great app

Very clear and easy to use

Handy Audio Guide

Easy to download and use. Looks like it will be great to use once we’re at Stonehenge to learn more of the site.

Don’t bother

Don’t waste your day waiting for the app to download.

Very disappointed with this app

Tried to use this on site and found it impossible to orientate on what the rather dull narration was referring to.

Stonehenge app

This app takes the Stonehenge experience to a whole new level - having first visited the stones back in the day when you could go right up and touch them, I always thought I knew all about them and their history, but this comprehensive guide and feast of informative gems, coupled with it’s beautiful user friendly design makes it a really great experience.

Stonehenge app

I know Stonehenge very well but this gave me some fascinating insights. I have to say this is a far better experience than previously provided visitor guides. Excellent, well done EH

A decent update

I regularly walk in the landscape around Stonehenge and I loved listening to the interesting facts about the stones and surrounds. Glad to see you have updated it with loads more content - I’ll really enjoy learning this word for word too!! Looks much prettier than the old version. Thumbs up from and avid Stonehenge Walker 👍🏼

Nicely done

Professional with good use of supporting experts.

Listened to this in car on way to Stonehenge. Shortish which was fine for children and me.

Only draw back is that this is audio from 2014 and opens with talking about the changes to the car park and visitors centre that can be seen 6 years ago.

Kids loved the visit and this audio.

Fundamentally Flawed on iOS

As has been previously highlighted the commentary drops when you want to use your camera or when your screensaver kicks in.

When restarting it also does not restart from where it left off, a real pain.

The app has also has not been kept up to date as it makes reference to works which will be completed in 2014.

Wake up English Heritage get this right particularly as your on site audio guides have been withdrawn during the Covid issues. It is an embarrassment at the moment.

Better than it used to be

Certainly much improved as it does now play but irritating that if you tried to use your phone camera or the phone simply went onto standby it would stop playing. I would have thought this was a fairly simple fix to do as other apps play when you are multitasking. Good narration and full of information.

Excellent audio guide

As typical teenagers, our 14 and 16 year old kids were not enthused at the prospect of what they expected to be a boring history lesson as we looked at the stones! However, they were won over by the really engaging content on this app - excellent background and explanations which answered critical questions in a straightforward and interesting way. We all loved it and it made our visit a meaningful and enjoyable one.

Good audio guide but poor functionality

The audio guide is good, interesting intro to the site (although slightly out of date reference to works being completed in 2014!). The app design is poor - audio only plays when the app is active and open on your screen, and stops if the screen locks or if you toggle to another app. This massively drains battery life!

Informative but not effortless

Great audio guide to listen to whilst walking around the stones, however like others have stated it would be nice if it had continued to play whilst phone was locked or when swapping to the camera app. Other than that no faults

Good tour

Well spoken and detailed tour. Too bad that the audio doesn’t continue when the app is closed to use the camera.
