Money minded
Stranger Soccer is honestly one of the most disappointing platforms I’ve dealt with. They claim to be about making football accessible, but that clearly doesn’t apply if you’re in a remote area. It feels like players outside major cities are completely ignored — limited games, poor organization, and zero effort to expand or support those communities.
On top of that, the fees are ridiculously high for what you actually get. You’re paying premium prices for a service that barely delivers, especially if you’re not in a central location. There’s no real value, no fairness, and definitely no consideration for players who don’t live in busy urban hubs.
What makes it worse is the poor communication. Games get cancelled and you’re only informed about 45 minutes before kickoff — completely inconsiderate for people who’ve already planned their time, travel, and schedule around it.
They also do nothing to encourage new players to join. No real incentives, no effort to grow the community — just a constant push for bookings and payments.
Meanwhile, local hosts are the only ones actually trying — going above and beyond to organise games and keep things running — yet they get little to no acknowledgement or support for their efforts. It’s completely unfair.
At this point, it genuinely feels like the app owner and organisers don’t care about the players or even the hosts. It’s all about the money, not the community.

Mencari game dulu memang teruk. Grup chat tak habis-habis, dan orang cabut minit-minit akhir. Sekarang? Saya cuma buka Stranger Soccer, tengok game yang ada, book untuk join, dan saya dah locked in. Keseluruhan proses sangat lancar, dari tempahan hingga pembayaran, dan penganjur game pun memang mantap. Serius, ini memang game-changer.

Love this app!! It’s super easy to find a game nearby and just show up to play. No team or planning needed. Everyone’s usually pretty friendly and the games are fun and well-run. Just perfect if you just wanna get a good kickabout in without the hassle

Sign up for a game and just turn up. Everything is settled and you just focus on playing. Love it!
Malpractice and Expensive
They advertise having the option to cancel a membership anytime, but it’s actually within 72 hours before the next billing date in hidden text. They also save your credit card details without your permission, so they lock you into an auto renewal subscription system. Tried contacting their Support email, slow reply.

Misleading pricing, weekly app updates, underwhelming games
Most games end up being $25 or so, the cost shown is always “from” and it’s always more.
App is ok but honestly updated it 5 times in 2 months now. It won’t let you use it until you update so I cbf anymore.
Played twice, one 11’s game we only had 13 people for kickoff time, we finally had 10v10 by the end of the hour but was a waste of my time & money. Second time 5’s we again didn’t have enough players at kickoff time and some were super beginner while others super elite.
Not the worst app, but I found community groups on fb etc cheaper & better way to play.
