In my string jazz group we often use this app, and honestly it’s so helpful! I’m new to playing jazz style in my violin and it was made the process so much faster and easier and honestly it’s so much fun :)

New update is fantastic. Who would ever beleive you can easily get a distortion/whammy bar sound on an acoustic violin? Edgar shows you in a built in video exactly how to do it. He also adds chord structures and using them to help improvise. More tunes, and as usual There are exercises to work you thru the process slowly, and methodically. So instead of "band in a box" this is "teacher in a box" and at an unheard of price.You could easily pay for a year of lessons to get the same material. lots of play along exercises and oppotunities to work on intonation.

Great for kids and adults
This App helps students have fun while learning to improvise. My daughter loves it.
Fun Improv Program
As a novice musician, I found this program fun and easy to use. Being able to hear the tunes and then see and study the related scales separately is very helpful. I was able to do some basic improvisation within about 20 minutes of opening the program.
Not just for string players!
I'm a pianist/teacher,and my more ambitious students find this app to be fun and helpful.The tracks are indeed of very high quality;that's evident to Chicago-based musicians from seeing the list of great local players who recorded them.
