I left 1Password and I’m glad I did
I was a satisfied 1Password user until the venture capitalist came crawling around. When 1PW went subscription I went out. I used KeePassXC and liked that it is free and open source.
Then along came Strongbox and I haven’t looked back.
I’m still working through the features and UI but Strongbox has proven to be stable and easy to use/understand. Since passwords will be with me for the rest of my life I bought the Pro version and couldn’t be happier.
Do yourself a favor…get Strongbox!

Excellent design
I’ve recently checked out many password managers, and can say without a doubt, that Strongbox is better and more effective in design and features than all of them. And the $150 lifetime price, is incredible value.

Must have for a PW manager
After a commercial auth program decided to break and sync garbage, causing me to lose all my two factor auth keys (thankfully, I had an offline device that I was able to re-key everything), I decided to use something that was open, and where I could back up the contents easily, while having cloud access. Strongbox is perfect. It is extremely well designed. I use it with a keyfile on all devices, so the KeePass database isn’t able to be brute forced, even if the cloud provider is compromised.
I REALLY wish for one feature — the ability to save a database as another file, with different DB encryption credentials. This will greatly help with backups. This way, if I’m using a Yubikey for the main database, I can save backups onto secure, offline media (encrypted USB flash drive), and a simple password. This way, losing my Yubikey won’t mean the loss of the PW file.

Great app, but
From time to time, I get a “Strongbox Downgrade” warning message and get offered to purchase (again) an upgrade or simply ignore the message and continue with the non-pro version.
I’m scared
Reddit says new company is going to install analytics, spyware, and malware on device. This is not acceptable! No spyware!

Worthless and unusable
Waste of money if you use a yubikey, the poor design of the app prevents it from utilizing it to log you in and auto fill passwords, essentially doesn’t work as advertised.

Family sharing?
In the App Store it says pro supports family sharing. I’ve just bought this for may family but I can’t find it in our shared apps.

App freezing on macOS
I love the app and I use it across all my devices, but the macOS app is constantly freezing from a few months. My vault is on iCloud and I always report the hang via apple store after killing the app . Please fix it.

this was the best, but they sold old to a company known for raiding user data to make money off of your habits. Stay far far away from this app

No longer syncs properly. So many lost things. Stay away from this garbage.
Excellent Intergrated Powerful Secure Password Manager
I used the Strongbox Password Manager (free version) for quite a while and did like it very much. Found that it worked well, was secure and was a very good way to manage all things security. I finally bought the “lifetime” version (yeah that was tough:however way worth it), and now find that it is an EXCELLENT and even. more powerful, seamless way to manage passwords, passkeys and more.
