Great app, when it works
Pluses: Good features, flexible, I’ve used it for 8 years & now use it to program my own routines
Downside is the overall bugginess and glitches. Used to be pretty solid but now I have issues with workouts being lost. Nothing more frustrating than a workout disappearing, and not remembering reps for the next session. Apple Watch integration is especially poor, again when it works it’s great but starting a workout is a frustrating experience of force quitting repeatedly until it comes up. Tech support is nonexistent- just points you to the FAQ. Looking for another paid app….

Untrustworthy
When the app was free I paid for “pro” features to support the creator. In return, the creator no longer honors those purchases and requires a subscription. No thank you.
Dishonest business practices
I’ve been using this app for over a decade. Before they switched to a monthly subscription, they sold lifetime subscriptions, which I purchased. The latest version of the app doesn’t let me restore my subscription. If you advertise something as lifetime, you can’t rewrite history. Shameful business practice here.

Thank you for resolving the issue and, most importantly, for upholding what was promised when I purchased the Lifetime Membership. I appreciate that my original lifetime access has been honored.
I purchased the StrongLifts Lifetime Membership approximately three years ago through Google Play as a one-time purchase. After switching from Android to iPhone, my lifetime purchase transferred successfully using the same account.
Recently, I discovered that several features that were previously available to me, including Plate Count, the Warm-Up section, creating custom workout plans, and updating sets, are now locked behind a recurring subscription.
As a lifetime member, I purchased the app specifically to avoid ongoing subscription fees. Moving features that were previously included behind a paywall significantly reduces the value of what I originally paid for.
I contacted support twice to ask for clarification and to have my lifetime membership honored, but I have not received a response.
This experience has caused me to lose trust in the company. When customers pay for a lifetime membership, they expect the features included with that purchase to remain available. Removing or restricting those features years later raises serious concerns about the company’s commitment to its customers and the integrity of its lifetime offering.
I would be happy to update this review if the company responds and resolves the issue.

Best app I’ve seen for tracking workouts. They have a large library of prebuilt workouts you can customize to your liking, or just roll with what they have already.
I’m still alive but my lifetime subscription is not!
Deep down I knew this would happen. I wanted to believe Stronglifts is/was different, but NOPE, they are not honoring the previous transaction of early supporters. I’ll be deleting the app simply out of disgust. I probably referred a dozen people to the app. I’ll refer them elsewhere now. Their behavior seems illegal.

Doesn’t honor lifetime license
I recently started working out again and opened the app to find i was being forced to sign up for a subscription even though i had a lifetime license from years ago. I won’t be renewing. I can what this app does with an easy spreadsheet.
Paid one time full fee, now forced to subscribe
I have used this app for years. One day I opened it up and it had a message box telling me that I had to subscribe to access it. I originally purchased the app when it was available for a single price. Now they have taken away access to all of the features that I previously paid for and won’t let me use it at all unless I subscribe. So I am deleting this from my phone. I can’t imagine the original developer doing this. I assume it has been purchased by someone, because this is very dishonest behavior.

Lifetime revoked
Purchased the Power Pack back when the app itself was free. Power Pack was touted as a lifetime purchase. Now the creator has decided that’s no longer valid and switched to a subscription based model. So the content I PAID for is no longer available for use. App doesn’t compare to the free apps available now anyways. TRASH!!!

Absolutely shameful behaviour that they’ve now put the entire app behind a pay wall even for users who have previously paid. Stay away from this app and Developer.
Good App - Bad Book Keeping
I have a legacy subscription from my android days that gave me a better yearly rate. Recently I had membership downgrade and had to resubscribe via Apple. Understandable but customer service said I wasn’t paying on my account. Lo-and behold a month later my yearly android subscription comes in, so now I’m paying twice? Bad book keeping, bad customer service.

Where’d my lifetime go?!
I had purchased the “lifetime” plan. I guess they have a different understanding of what lifetime means. I’m now locked out of ALL of my years of workout data. Absolutely infuriating. Don’t trust this app!!!

The best i m 46 and i really recommend to get stronger definitely start lifting lighter weight and keep your progress on point 100%

4. They say they cant find evidence I paid (how did I get access then?)
5. I send them evidence. They dont respond.
6. I send evidence again, they respond.
7. Admin said I insulted him, they canceled sub and refunded money.
Wth kind of business model is this?

“After checking our payment records, we can't find any purchase from you for a lifetime payment in December 2024.
We can only find an unfinished checkout. The payment was initiated but never completed. This can happen if there was an issue with the credit card.
We granted you access in good faith in January 2025. So you had full access free of charge for the past 18 months. We have now removed this access. But you can subscribe to continue using the app.
Of course, if you can produce an invoice on a possible different account, we'll be happy to grant access.”

Another one kicked out and expected to pay again
Brought pro back in 2020 and awesome app but now been kicked out and can’t get details unless subscribe now. No notice . Disappointed when ranted and raved so others used in past and now no access unless pay again!! 🤬😡😤
Used to have a free option
Why is everything a paid subscription now? This app used to let you log your workouts for free, then after an update you have to pay to use anything on this app after the “free” week. This information isn’t proprietary, copyrighted, or trademarked. This workout program can be found for free online. And I’m sure AI would make a better custom schedule for you for free. They are just trying to make $$ off of free information from people that don’t know they don’t have to pay to learn this information.

Greed won
Functionally it’s a 4 star app. However because new users can’t try it without adding a payment method, there is really none of the value that it used to have. Shame on the app creator for taking away the chance for users to try the app free of charge with the option to upgrade if they want to.
Used to be a nice little app…
I started using this years ago and paid for the app to get a few extra features and support. Now my legacy purchase no longer works and support aren’t interested. It’s a nice little app for beginners, but frankly whatever your level you would be mad to pay 50 quid a year for it. There are plenty of free options that would do the same job.
