What's New in StudioMini XL

2.2.8

June 4, 2026

StudioMini XL is being retired and will no longer receive updates. This version adds support for exporting and migrating your projects to StudioMini 3, now available for both iPhone and iPad. Existing users can continue using StudioMini XL, but we recommend migrating future work to StudioMini 3. Migration instructions and support information are available at: https://otreus.com/en/move-from-studiomini-xl-to-studiomini-3/

5 years since an update?

Way too long.

Response from developer

You're absolutely right, it is too long, we agree. Behind the scenes, our small indie team has been focused on a major overhaul of StudioMini for iPhone, which involves rebuilding the audio engine to include effects and other improvements. Our plan is to bring a comparable major update to StudioMini for iPad once that foundation is fully in place. We now release updates for iPhone regularly, and our goal is to follow the same approach for iPad as the app catches up with the new audio engine. We appreciate your patience! If you'd like to email us at help@otreus.com we'll follow up as soon as we have news.

Does this app work with Bluetooth Headphones? Apparently NOT!

Without a headphone connection, this app is trash. On an iPad you use Bluetooth for headphones or you’re SOOL. I’m looking for a refund here since the app does not seem aware of Bluetooth for output. I can’t believe you guy are still selling this version and have not updated the app in four years!

Response from developer

Hello Joe, and thanks for letting us know how important Bluetooth support is for you. We recently released a major new version for StudioMini on iPhone which includes Bluetooth support, along with many other great new features. We're hard at work on the iPad version currently. I'll follow up when we have news on its release. Feel free to reach out to us at any time with questions or feedback at help@otreus.com

One vital omission

This is a great little app. A cheap and cheerful notepad to get ideas down when the muse strikes in a field! But if it only had panning so you could try out mix ideas! Next upgrade……PANPOTS!!!!!!!!!!

Naw

This would be a great $.99 app. As is, it’s barely better than iOS voice memos. At least voice memos has a timeline.
Rumors of punch and the like appear to be just that. Email option dead in the water. For this kind of money you can do FAR better.
Please refund $9.00 of my investment and we both win.
Thanking you in advance...

Response from developer

Hi and thanks for the feedback! 👋 Voice Memos is great, but it's not a multitrack recorder like StudioMini XL where you can record and mix your music. We hear from many users that love StudioMini XL because of its simplicity and pro quality audio. Please email us at help@otreus.com and we'll help you with anything you need, including getting a refund.

;no Manual

Cant even figure out how to record. Bought it but no manual. So right now useless
