Its alright
Starting the app and I start on the tenses lesson, at first I wasn’t really sure what was going on as it would give the ability to select an answer but there was only one choice so it was impossible to get the answer wrong, later more multiple choices appear but this wasn’t obvious at the beginning.
When the other multiple choices appear the selections don’t make a lot of sense tbh as even with the vaguest of Japanese knowledge you can infer the correct answer… in tenses for example, it should really provide all selectable answers stating the same answer but in the various tenses and with you selecting the correct tense based on the English presented but that’s not the case here…. So as a result you don’t really absorb the actual content of the lesson… more often than not I’ll just look at the first word and hit the answer as the other possible answers are completely unrelated thus I’ve bypassed the point of the lesson. Not only that but some of the answers in this category don’t even relate to tenses at all but are just general vocab, “nice to meet you” and “later” and so on … sure useful for beginners but irrelevant to the lesson at hand.
Like the other reviewer stated, I also get the impression the conversations taking place are overly casual, in which case it might be a good idea to make that known in the app itself.
Formatting issues, possibly as a result of screen size but some words are split up in strange ways (even though there is plenty of room to display on one line) as well as the kana not appearing directly above the corresponding sentence can make it tricky to read.
Conversations themselves seem fun and I’m sure you could pick up some bits and bobs with this app but can’t help thinking it could be so much better 😢

Not able to play it
I downloaded it, I went to try it and none of the functions would work..
So helpful!
I thought the app was very very helpful for a beginner like me, the speaking was a little off but was still very educational!
ok for beginners, accent’s not good
while the format is not horrible (though a quiz like format is.. kind of tense and difficult to learn with) especially with beginners,
the accent of the male voice ESPECIALLY is not good. this can affect a new learner’s ability to speak properly, as the phonetics are not right. just changed how high or low of a pitch you go with a vowel can change a word or sentence completely, and teaching this to beginners is very harmful to their learning. while the intention is good, the audio should be of a fluent speaker so that the learner doesn’t pick up bad habits.

很不錯
但選項都只有1個 改2-4都沒反應
Why not native Japanese voices?
It's pretty obvious that the male has an accent, he sounds like an American young adult. Its not ideal for practicing listening...

Great start for conversations
My Japanese is pretty weak, but this provides a quick way to learn new phrases to be used right away. I learned tenses to start, which was something I could use right away. Each "Chapter" is organized into a theme, like "At a Cafe", "Phone Conversation", or "At Home" with each chapter consisting of over 50 useful phrases to use. The good thing is that they provide example phrases to use, but are like a skeleton so once you've mastered more vocabulary, you can use that same sentence with new words.
Overall, a great and an effective app to learn Japanese. Good for beginners, but for intermediate/advanced learners, it may be too simple.

Don't buy this app
It's incredibly sexist and horrible at teaching you Japanese!!! When you select the tenses practice, the only thing the women says is "I'm going shopping!" That is very sexist AND a blatantly rude and untrue stereotype. Don't buy this app.📵📵📵
If you want multiple options
Then you just have to change it in the settings. The bad reviews are from people who didn't utilize the settings feature. It's a really funny dialogue and very natural-seeming. I have never been to Japan, but I feel like this app would almost be like visiting without the expensive flight. Lol.
Waste of air
After half an hour of using this app, all
I learned was really pointless pick up phrases that would not even be legit. Ie. you are cute, I like cute girls. See you later.
It is too bad, they have a great setup with the characters in the background promoting the learning environment but he content was poor.

Not so good
I don't know how credible this is. The first thing I see is
"Reading Style
romanji"

Informal language
Although fun and informative, occasionally they use inappropriate and informal language such as 俺(ore) and 行かなくちゃ(ikanakucha) good for learning but don't use some of the phrases in this app
Liked it..... but
As much as I loved this app for it's huge variety of situations and hilarity of flirty phrases I found there to be too many incorrectly spelt romaji phrases, which kind of made me lose trust in which text was correct and what wasn't for any new phrases I hadn't learnt yet.
That put me off actually using many of the phrases in person as I had learnt elsewhere from previous studies what certain words and phrases were but here were written as something else. I feel this app is a great tool overall but the romaji in-corrections were abit too blatant to pass on...
Although I have learnt quite a considerable amount of new Japanese words I didn't know prior to using this app which I can implement into my own sentences, so thank you for that at least. Visually I loved it, I liked how it had various locations and multiple character choices and animated background plus I must say a pretty inspirational menu soundtrack which made me want to learn more.
For the next update I think the romaji text should be fixed as what the speaker said on several occasions was not what was on screen.

This is quite fun and enjoyable and i learnt a bit off it, although most of the thing i learned are romance related.
Favourite so far
Enjoyable, fun game to learn some Japanese phrases. Got to say, some of the chat on this makes me laugh with the sleazy guys, and it's very nice to look at.
I think it would be impossible to learn Japanese just with this, but as an extra tool combined with lessons, it is useful, or just for a fun game to play when the real study does your head in!
