Best sudoku app

I’ve tried so many and this is by far my favorite sudoku app. I do wish there was a level between easy and medium. The easy ones are very simple and with the mediums I find myself sometimes stuck and can’t solve the puzzle so have to guess. I have looked up advanced strategies and have used many and gotten better, but still there are times when I see no way to move forward. Don’t know if that would be added on at some point, not just a hint at telling you a number but actually a strategy you can use to solve it at that point. This would take some doing I’m sure. Regardless I will still be playing my mediums and occasionally a hard puzzle. Great app!

Thank you! The latest update now lets you try all Levels and change settings and themes for Free. However, I do hope some users try out the app and purchase the one-time-only purchase to support me. I am a small indie developer. I do not use any ads whatsoever because I value user privacy. The only way for me to support ongoing development, maintenance of the app and developer fees is by having a single in app purchase. The in app purchase is also a small single one time only purchase and there are no subscriptions as I understand users dislike those. I think this model is quite fair as one gets to try the app and if they enjoy, they can buy the small 1 time only in app purchase to support development. I hope this explains my situation. Great App Hoping for More Future Updates & Features

EDIT** Developer is continuing to update and has listened and added our requests :) Best sudoku app on the market. Well worth the premium purchase

Latest update was 3 years ago, and I purchased the premium version to support the developer. I really hope this app continues to receive updates, as it has a lot of potential. I do have a few suggestions:

* Add an option where using the “X” also removes notes from cells
* Include a toggle that allows up to 3 mistakes (can be edited) per game
* Expand customization options. More colors or even a color wheel would be great

Overall, I’d love to see this app continue to grow with more features and improvements.

Hello, the latest update now includes a setting to allow up to 3 mistakes. Would you mind emailing me what you mean by "using the “X” also removes notes from cells"? Do you want it to remove all notes from that cell? pran@pranapps.com

Addictive

One of the better ones available. No troublesome Ads and engaging difficulty levels. Can be better by including a restart option for any puzzle midway.

Response from developer

Thank you for the kind words. You can restart any puzzle midway by long pressing the undo button and it will ask you if you want to restart. - Pran (developer)

Kind of disappointing

I had hoped that this app would teach sudoku concepts, rather than just give a hint by telling you a number.
I had a great sudoku app that is no longer made, and it let me scan games in as well as taught different techniques. So when you asked for a hint, it would say something like “look for a naked pair” rather than saying “do you accept defeat?“ I think that’s just insulting and stupid because it doesn’t teach anything. It just fills in the number for you.

One of the better sudoku apps

Nice themes, good gameplay. I’d really like to see GameCenter syncing of my scores between devices.

GREAT App

Points for stating how you score the puzzle, with a simple strategy to maximize points. BIG niggle: I would like to reset the statistics preferably each difficulty separately. I like to play 25 games at a go. Currently the only way I see is to delete and DL. Small niggle: currently if you abandon a game (can’t solve) the game isn’t noted in the games played statistic. There doesn’t have to be a penalty but a simple counter would be nice.
Finally, the game before paying the app came off sort of clunky to me, if you find this, ignore it and unlock the full game. Worth every penny

Hello The latest update now includes a feature where you can just swipe left on a level to reset its scores. So now, you don't need to delete and redownload the app. Hope you update your review after trying :) Pran

No access to hard sudokus

App does all the work and you can’t turn off the cheats without paying. Uninstalling.

Errors and I have pics

I have two pictures if you’re interested contact me and I will send them to you. One picture shows blank squares where I tried to enter the correct number. The game would not accept it so I moved on and solved the rest of the puzzle and then I took pictures after I entered the missing numbers again and it accepted the correct numbers which I tried to enter the first time the reporting shows the number of mistakes I made, which

Edit: I am not understanding your review as it mentions words which don’t apply to my app. For example “Siri” and “hot” don’t apply to my app at all. Did you mean to leave the review on another app? Great Application

Nicely done but a teaching help would be a great addition (when we get stuck).

No option to see how difficult it is

I’m so tired of sudokus which are easy, or at least, not as hard as they should be.

This developer wants me to drop money to unlock the extreme levels before letting me try them?! Not going to happen. It could be a waste of money.

Give us a few extreme ones to try before asking for money.

Best Sudoku app on the AppStore

Since picking this version up back in July of this year I’ve logged almost 200 games in it. There’s a ton of options, and my favorite by far (well 2 now as of yesterday’s update) is that I can have all of the possible notes pre-filled!! And as of yesterday I can export my game stats so I can check them out in a spreadsheet and make my own graphs. Perfect if you’re a DataIsBeautiful redditor 🤘 If your old favorite sudoku app is boring you or if you’re new to the market and looking for a solid sudoku app, give Sudoku Extreme a shot 🤙 —mauirixxx

Edit: as of December 2024 I’ve logged over 1,500+ games (rounds?) in this app, it’s nearly the only game I play on my phone these days 😎

Thank you so much for the kind feedback! ❤️

Not as advanced as I would like

There’s no option (unless I’m just not seeing it) that allows you to continuously keep applying the same number your working on without having to back track and have to hit the space plus the number instead of just pressing the space. I don’t like all the hits that are marked inside each square, (hints that I did not put there). There’s several other things that I don’t like but for now that’s all I want to write about.

Great app, difficulty rating is maybe broken

I have spent years with this app. First downloaded it in 2018. The medium level of difficulty is legitimately impossible. I have never solved a medium puzzle without having to just straight up guessing. I have not had similar problems with hard or extreme

Greedy dev cuts game

Previously, for a short while, the dev totally crippled this game and made you pay for all options and difficulty levels. Then the bad reviews started so the dev reverted back to a sensible game with a few paid options. Now, the dev is slowly locking down even the most basic options again behind a paywall. For example, when you completed a number, it used to be greyed out to show you that it was done. Now you have to pay for that! Except every other sudoku app does that for free! Meanwhile, bad design like having numbers close together all in a row at the bottom means you keep hitting the wrong one and registering as a mistake. Just do yourself a favour and check out Good Sudoku by Zach Gage instead. The design is so much better and intelligent, and the devs aren’t greedy like this one.

Fave Sudoku app!

Great puzzles. Endless supply. Works offline. Has the hardest puzzles of all the apps I tried. Tons of features.

Suduko levels

Silly to have to work through simple ones we
Want hard ones

Response from developer

The app provides 6 levels of difficulty: from easy to hard to extreme ones. Did you try the harder levels?

FORCES UPON YOU!

This developer is brilliant by forcing you to upgrade to the paid version in order to change ANY configuration whatsoever 👎👎 APP DELETED!!!

Why have you put little numbers in each box your making it too easy

Response from developer

You are able to switch off the setting for auto fill notes. Or you can hide them by swiping up/down on the notes button. Hope you update the review after trying it out.

Why do I have to pay to take away all the bells and whistles?

I get more points if I don't use the pencil notations... but I have to subscribe to take them away! How can I decide if I am unable to take her for a test run?
