What's New in Sumaddle

2.9.0

August 23, 2026

A new lighting option for playing in complete darkness and a small refinement to the red filter. The changes in detail: • A new “extra dark” look has been added to the lighting settings for when dark mode is active on the device. This form of look has been designed for play in complete darkness. • When the new extra-dark look is selected, it is also possible to choose the fill effect that is used for painting the blocks of a puzzle. This can help to keep glare to a minimum and make it easier to recognize the blocks in the low-lighting conditions. • Small adjustments have been made to the other forms of appearance too. In particular, the dark look has darker blocks and certain elements are less bright. • The red filter level can be adjusted in much finer steps.

Fun game but it kind of solves itself

The game itself is fun! It could be a nice challenge and a great brain teaser, if it didn’t give you all the answers.

When you click a box to fill it, it shows all the number options you can choose inside that box. The issue is when you have already used that number in the row or column, it takes that number out the box and only shows available numbers. After you solve a few numbers, it pretty much has the puzzle solved for you. I don’t want a hint unless I have trouble solving the puzzle but you get one with every box. There is no way to turn this off. I messaged support to ask if I was just missing a setting and they confirmed it can’t be turned off.

Because you can use as many hints as you need, this function just feels kind of in the way and for no reason. With the 5x5 puzzles when you figure out 1 or 2 boxes, the game gives you the rest of the answers. There is still a good challenge to the 7x7 ones if you can ignore the hints! I’m kind of forcing myself to ignore the hints but then my adhd kicks in and I can’t help but notice, and it just kind of is annoying.

If it weren’t for that this would probably be my favorite number puzzle game! I considered paying for the extra puzzles when I finish the free ones but I just can’t pay for it to just give me the answers.

If this doesn’t bother you then you will find this game fun for sure!!

Response from developer

Hi tb02830 and thanks for your review. It's true that the app doesn't let you set a duplicate number on a square, which is one of the advantages that the app gives you over playing with pencil and paper. When you are near the end of a game, this can mean that the last squares of the puzzle will sometimes fall into place in a kind of chain reaction. But in order to get this far, there will always be some crucial steps that you will need to figure out by applying logic. The interactive gameplay is aimed at improving the "quality of life", letting you focus on cracking the puzzles by using logic and relieving you of some of the more mundane aspects of playing. It should help you to solve a puzzle, without actually solving it for you. Sorry if it seems like it takes too much of the work out of completing a puzzle.

Love it!

I wish there were be more game like this!

Excellent logic game. Clean design.

I love a good logic game, and this is my new favourite. Fair prices too. No ads or other rubbish.

Brilliant puzzle game

So satisfying, like Sudoku, like Wordle, like Codewords, like Betweenle, I love these puzzles!

obsessive

i play this game obsessively! it’s somewhat difficult to learn at first, but once you understand how to solve the puzzles, it’s addicting. you can toggle the size and difficulty of the random puzzles, or you can try their packs for a few bucks—i’ve gotten every single one. plus, it’s available offline, so it’s a perfect airplane game. one of my all time favorites!!!
