Didn’t do what I thought
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback. You're right, the app wasn't making this clear enough. SunSeekr is designed to show where sunlight and shade fall, not just sunny venues. We've been improving the map experience and have also added SunPaths for finding sunnier or shadier walking routes. Coverage currently varies by city, so if you spot missing outdoor areas you can now map or report them directly in the app. We'd love you to give the new version another try.
Not accurate
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback, and you're right about trees. SunSeekr calculates shadows using available building and geographic data, but trees and smaller obstructions aren't consistently available in the open datasets we currently use. We're working to improve this, and you can now report inaccurate areas directly in the app to help us correct the map. We're a small independent team, so these reports genuinely help us make SunSeekr better. We'd love you to give the latest version another try.
Innacurate
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback. SunSeekr simulates sunlight using building geometry and sun position, but the accuracy depends on the geographic data available for each area. Trees, awnings and smaller structures can sometimes be missing. We're making those limitations clearer and adding better ways to report and map local conditions. If you spot somewhere that's wrong, please flag it in the app so we can investigate it.
Would like to set accurate location
Response from developer
Thanks for flagging this, and glad the sun and shade map has been useful in Denver! The weather location showing Los Angeles while you're in Denver definitely isn't right. We've been improving location handling and will keep working on this. Thanks for the really helpful feedback ☀️
Super coole Idee
So nich!
Response from developer
Vielen Dank!
Schlecht
Response from developer
Lots of Errors
Response from developer
Thanks for flagging this. You're right, venue information can occasionally become outdated as businesses open, close or change. We've now added reporting tools in SunSeekr so outdated venues can be flagged directly from the app and corrected much faster. We're also working to improve our venue data continuously. If you spot one of these places again, a report from the app would really help us fix it.
Inspired!
Response from developer
Thank you! This is exactly what we hoped SunSeekr would be useful for ☀️ We've kept building since your review, including better mapped outdoor areas and SunPaths for finding sunny or shady walks. Thanks for being an early SunSeekr.
It does not work anymore
Response from developer
Sorry about this, and thanks for sticking with SunSeekr. We've made a lot of reliability and performance improvements since your review. If you're willing to give the latest version another try, we'd really appreciate it. If something still isn't working, please use Report an Issue in the app so we can investigate it directly.
Not really accurate
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback, and you're right about natural shade. SunSeekr currently calculates shadows from available building and geographic data, but trees and hedges aren't consistently available in the open datasets we use. We're working to improve this and you can now report inaccurate areas directly in the app. Local reports help us make the map better for everyone.
Not Working/Useless
Response from developer
Thanks for trying SunSeekr back in V2. We've since completely rebuilt the app. Version 3 has a new map experience, mapped outdoor areas, hourly sun exposure, faster performance and much better reporting tools. It's a very different SunSeekr now, and we'd love you to give it another try.
Not good
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback. This was one of the big problems we wanted to solve. Since your review, we've completely rebuilt SunSeekr. Version 3 now maps the actual outdoor seating area rather than relying only on a venue location, and shows its sun exposure throughout the day. We'd love you to give the new version another try.
Useless
Response from developer
Thanks for trying SunSeekr back in V2. We've completely rebuilt the app since your review. V3 goes beyond venue information by mapping outdoor areas and simulating how sunlight and shade move across them throughout the day. We've also made major improvements to speed and usability. We'd love you to give the new version another try.
Add Satellite Image
Response from developer
Thanks for the suggestion. Being able to understand the real outdoor space alongside our sun and shade simulation is exactly the kind of problem we've been working on. V3 now includes mapped outdoor areas so we can model the actual terrace rather than just the venue point. Satellite imagery is still a great idea for us to explore further. Thanks for helping shape SunSeekr!
Needs better data
The problem is that the simulation relies on a couple of data points meaning there can be huge inaccuracies. I’ve referenced the pubs near me and know that several don’t have outdoor drinking spaces or do but are always in shade past a certain time because of the shadows from surrounding buildings - two of them are under a flyover and never get sun despite the fact the app says otherwise.
Looking forward to future iterations but for now I can’t rely on it.
Response from developer
Thanks for such thoughtful feedback. You identified one of the biggest challenges we needed to solve. Since V2, we've rebuilt SunSeekr around better spatial data and mapped outdoor areas rather than relying only on venue points. We're also adding community mapping and reporting so local knowledge can help correct missing terraces, structures and outdated information. We're a small independent team, so feedback like this genuinely helps shape where we go next.
Slow :(
Response from developer
Thanks for trying SunSeekr back in V2. We've since completely rebuilt the app, with much faster map loading, a redesigned interface and improved sign-in and performance. V3 is a very different experience, and we'd love you to give it another try.
Fokussierung nicht vorhanden
Response from developer
