Unhappy

The closest place I can get a reading from is 30+ km away and different weather, clouds mountains in between. There is no way to add a specific place - not found.
Therefore readings are inaccurate and unreliable.

This is a start

I appreciate the live UVI readings. Please provide a widget so that the app doesn’t need to be opened every time!

VERY INACCURATE, DON’T USE

App reads 2.5 UV when other sources claim it’s 11. This app is actually a danger to use. At other times it has frequently listed the wrong UV

No widgets in 2026?

This app looks good and trustworthy but I deleted it basically straight away because it has no widget functionality. Hopefully Cancer Council gets with the times and adds this soon - I’m sure they’d see much higher use of this app and less negative reviews if they did. Basic low level functions that don’t match the vast majority of what else is out there just doesn’t really cut it in the age of technology.

Worried by this app

The openness about data sources is very refreshing, but I’m not happy with the way uv data is presented. I’m currently in the south of Gran Canaria, and whilst the UV forecast looks fine, the weather forecast for the days ahead is well off. It turns out the nearest data source being used is for Las Palmas in the North which has a different climate from where I am. The app however gives a forecast supposedly for the exact part of town I’m in. This data inaccuracy about the weather has reduced my confidence in the UV data too.

Way off!!

Check your data. 3.55pm and your app says Mornington is currently 1.3!! You’re dreaming! Currently 8.5. This app is actually dangerously inaccurate.

More features

It would be great if there were widgets and a watch app, and maybe notifications as well if there aren’t already.

Enchantments

Watch app
Live action widget reminding to put sunscreen on

Ok - but missing features

The app has no widgets for iPhone. Please add a few diff size widgets with the chart and with Live UV. And it also needs an Apple Watch app. Come on guys - these are standard features these days!

I wish this app won’t ever go away and the developers won’t abandon it

Broken after latest update

The app no longer works at all after the latest update.

No longer works

Since the update late August 2025 the app doesn’t work at all. You open it and it never loads. Just shows “SunSmart” with a black screen behind it.

V2.0.3 is broken

Come on guys. Test your app in production before publishing it.

Not loading

See above ⬆️

No longer starting

Sadly I cannot open the app anymore :( it’s stuck in the loading splash.

Used to work until update

Latest update has bricked the app.

App used to be reliable and useful. Now just a SunSmart Logo and no functionality.

Bad update

The most recent update wrecked the app. It launches but remains frozen on the sunsmart logo. Both ipad and iphone

Broken after Aug ‘25 update

You updated the app for the first time in a while and now it doesn’t load. 👏🏻

Please make a widget!

I’m using the app every day for more than half of the year, and I’d highly appreciate if there was a widget for mobile devices’ home screen. Thanks for keeping it free. Cheers!

Added: specifically a widget showing recommended sun protection time would be perfect. Thanks for your reply :)
