One of the best software synths out there (and the rest are the developer’s other synths!)
So musically playable I was able to record an entire album on a plane trip, each track using a single patch, the step sequencer and sound modulation controls! AudioKit Pro has developed the best sounding and most playable phone synths on the planet—and they sound like they’re from another one!
Difficulties
I really want to love this. I grew up in the 80s and love the music created with the Jupiter 8. I don’t love it. Here’s why, when trying to perform on it through AUM, the sound frequently cuts out on me. Notes frequently drop. Even when I cut the unison function way back, I still get dropouts. Also an obnoxious static noise that resembles bad hardwire connection. Believe me I’ve ruled that out of my set up. It only happens with this app.
The sound of this app is very good. There are a lot of presets, but I would like to have more that were straightforward, useful sounds for playing music. So many of the presets are very unusual and creative, yet not very useful.

My fav from audiokit
The sawtooths on this are really lively and now with better kt ( though not perfect) i use this a lot and overall it has my favourite synth tone.
Nothing Like a Real Jupiter
Well, I was sucked in by the very slick marketing from AudioKit saying that this was a Jupiter on iOS. I’m sorry to say that this sounds nothing like a real Jupiter. In fact, it sounds like all of the other AudioKit synthesizers. Not even close to analog. Completely digital sounding. As long as you know these facts, it’s a decent synth. But a Jupiter it is not.
