Nothing Like a Real Jupiter
Well, I was sucked in by the very slick marketing from AudioKit saying that this was a Jupiter on iOS. I’m sorry to say that this sounds nothing like a real Jupiter. In fact, it sounds like all of the other AudioKit synthesizers. Not even close to analog. Completely digital sounding. As long as you know these facts, it’s a decent synth. But a Jupiter it is not.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Wow, what an amazing Jup 8 you have provided to us on iOS. The price is ridiculously low. I own everything you offer and have written reviews before. This one is my favorite by far. However, all are so creatively made to serve a variety of purposes. You’re the best of the best by any measure of creating synthesizers I can play on my iPad. Just remarkable presets! So much fun!!

Update
Thanks for improving Keytrack. Now if you could do the same for J6 would very appreciated *prays*
Just buy it!
This sounds so, so good! Easy to dial in sounds but so tweakable. Look out for the Pro-A5 as well - it’s an absolute beast! To say AudioKit have really upped their game is an understatement…
Add support for MacOS
This synth is great, but no support for MacOS. Will be support on MacOS ?
Sooooo Awesome
I don’t normally do softsynth reviews unless they’re stellar, and Super J8 absolutely is. It sounds rich, clean, clear and is really easy to use. I own 25 softsynths and this is my second favorite next to Animoog Z.
One of the BEST synths on IOS! A Powerhouse packed in a workhorse!
This is a total “Tank” this thing just wrecks other IOS synths, and doesn’t think about it!
Way back when AudioKit came out, I got bought their very first release, and did a little research and I loved that they wanted to come together as a team and donate time to build something special together. I may be mistaken but it seemed like sometime after the 2000 synth release (it may have been a year, maybe two) I seen another AudioKit release, separate from the original AudioKit start to release apps … I may be wrong but I feel like maybe some of the guys that worked on some of (AudioKits) first few releases must have started another “SISTER” team, with some of the developers… But these guys started making some KILLER synths! They have some great ideas, and pushing the envelope hard, milking the IOS platform to push out some creamy, milky smooth, synths, and then just jump into some hard hitting, face smashing, bass thumping, jaw dropping synths! They are fun, they are easy to use, but serious!
I would love to see maybe a nod to H.G.Fortune with some of the amazing work he did on the Windows platform, it would be almost a shame not to introduce something like the WOF by HG Fortune!
I have paid for every app the day they release it… So I can support these guys, the work they do is legendary, and YEARS to come will still be being used ….
I have kept all my old iPads, from my very first iPad 3rd generation… some of the apps that are on that iPad can NEVER be found again, because the developer didn’t keep up with updates… like the Original ALCHEMY app, released on iOS back in 2010… most people haven’t even seen that app… because it became a part of Logic and Garage band… I say all that, just to say…”Hold on to these apps!” Get them, support the devs… because these apps will be legendary one day, and you would have been smart enough to buy them, and hold on to these apps system you downloaded it to…because it will always been on that system.

Fantastic sound! wow!
I have most of this developers other apps. They are good and I enjoy them but this is the first time I’ve felt compelled to write a review and give stars. This thing sounds amazing! Really great. Great tones. Sounds real. . Can’t wait for the prophet five! This is a must buy! Really excited to see what else this developer comes out with. Kudos!

ABSOLUTE BEAST
The fact that this app has the exact same features and sound characteristics as the original $25K synth for not even a fraction of that price is just mind-blowing. The sharp, polished, lush, and laser-like feel does more than define the sound of the 80s, but literally takes you there. One thing I would add would be a UI style customizer, where you can switch between your own style, or the original JP-8’s layout and color scheme.

… AARGH! ….
… OUFFF! ….
CPU Intensive
Great sounding synthesizer but it overloads the CPU on older iPads.
Fantastic Planet!
For me all of your apps are must haves, but you really knocked it out with this one! I wanted to let you know I have had multiple crashes when in the Favorites Preset Bank on an iPad Pro 10.
Amazing
I have a few other synths from AudioKit, and this is the first I’ve written a review for. I am seriously blown away by this synth. The quality is delectable. Feels like I’m using Omnisphere. Can’t recommend enough
👍🏻
You can NOT go wrong with these AudioKit synths. Fantastic sound, solid performance, and devs that really care. Every one is worth every penny!
Worth every penny
OMG - why did I put 1000 of euros in hardware, when one can have it all for 8,99 ;-) the J8 sounds amazing, and the save a prayer preset sold it to me! It’s just awesome. Use all of the last 8 steps in the sequencer and you got almost the full melody.
Thanks for this App! Made my day
Thanks for this App! Made my day
The best
The very first synth I’ve tried on Ios that actually sounds as good as anything on mac or windows. Blown away by the sound quality.
Bring on MPE !
Bring on MPE !
Just Get It!
All I can say is if you don’t get this you are missing out! Absolutely brilliant
J8 is ☢️💣🔥= BOOM
Analog matthew and his crew of audio surgeon’s have done it again !! It’s so awesome!! I love it and it’s easy to use for a music noob like me !! And affordable which is HUGE for a working stiff like myself.. if it wasn’t for Audiokit labs I’d have no experience yet at all cuz I can’t afford gear really yet , just have my iPad and that’s it !! Thank u audiokit and Matthew !! And the students of course for all the hard work !! Way to go everybody!!
